    Somerset 48-4 v Glos

That's a very welcome boundary for Somerset as Tom Abell plays Ollie Price off the back foot and squeezes the shot just between two fielders to find the rope.

Abell's been joined now by Lewis Gregory, his successor as skipper.

  3. Price has a tendency to get wickets with short ballspublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 14 September

He can get wickets with shorter balls sometimes.

He certainly did that in the semi-final, but Tom Abell plays Ollie Price well there.

Huge wicket as Ollie Price strikes with his second ball!

Sean Dickson went big in the semi-final - but he goes first ball this time, trying to reverse sweep the spinner and missing as it careers into his leg stump.

Wickets tumbling and Somerset suddenly look in trouble here...

Gloucestershire captured four powerplay wickets in their semi-final against Sussex Sharks - and they've got three in the final!

All of them for Matt Taylor, who's bowling superbly and persuades James Rew to drive to short cover, where Cameron Bancroft pulls off an excellent diving catch.

The moment Tom Price took the catch to send Tom Kohler-Cadmore on his way. Was there a slight misjudgement of the flight? It looked as if he had to reach forward for it slightly.

  7. The dew factor may make it easier to bat on?published at 19:09 British Summer Time 14 September

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

Usually it gets harder to bat on and lower scoring here with the same pitch used for more than 100 overs today.

But you would hope with the dew factor the ball might skid on a little bit more and we may see a few more runs in this final, it might be easier to bat on.

    Somerset 39-2 v Glos

James Rew's knock was one the highlights of Somerset's semi-final win against Surrey and he gets off the mark straight away, gliding his first ball from Josh Shaw to the fine leg boundary.

But that's a tight over from Shaw, with just two other runs conceded as Somerset look to regroup after losing both openers.

I had a good chat with Chris Rew, father of two of the most talented brothers in the country (one of whom has just come to the wicket on his first day as a T20 Blast cricketer).

He informed me that captain Thomas (the younger brother) and his pals, who had just beaten Scotland Under-19s at Loughborough, were hot-footing it across the Midlands to get here for the final.

Further hundreds for Dawkins and Isbell, after their success in the Super 4s, makes them further names to look out for in the coming years!

    Two in an over!

Slower ball from Matt Taylor works a treat as Tom Kohler-Cadmore just scoops it high on the off side and Tom Price pouches it safely.

And so we reach the final and with it the conclusion of a long day at Edgbaston.

It's one last push for the players and one final game for the fans to enjoy in the 2024 T20 Blast.

We've just heard a rousing rendition of "Sweet Caroline" being sung in the stands before the first ball and now all eyes are on the cricket.

Just a few minutes ago the concourses and outdoor areas were full of people enjoying the last of the sun.

From Surrey-supporting bananas to two Somerset hens - randomly joined by a mystery man wearing the the exact same outift - to a group of jockeys and one solitary horse, the fancy dress has been strong all round.

Good bowling change for the Glosters!

Matt Taylor's first ball is wide of off stump and Will Smeed obligingly steers it into the hands of backward point.

Tom Abell is the new man in for Somerset.

  13. Vaughan would have battedpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 14 September

    Harry Everett
    BBC Sport from Edgbaston

In the interval I lapped the ground and had a chat with 18-year-old hero of Thursday afternoon, Archie Vaughan.

He told me: "I would have batted first had I won the toss, and also would have kept it unchanged as it did not seem to spin too much in the first innings."

And he also interestingly reckons Dan Worrall is a better bowler than David Payne in the battle of the powerplay swing kings...

    Somerset 28-0 v Glos

That's what the crowd have come to see - sixes! And they get to witness a couple of them as Tom Kohler-Cadmore launches David Payne over long-on and into the stands.

Payne shortens his length slightly but Kohler-Cadmore is onto it and bludgeons the ball back over the top for six more. Good start for Somerset here.

David Payne has bowled more maiden overs in this T20 Blast than anyone else.

    Somerset 13-0 v Glos

First boundary for Somerset, with Will Smeed slashing Josh Shaw beyond backward point for four.

But there's definitely some swing there for the Gloucestershire seamer, with Tom Kohler-Cadmore pushing unconvincingly at a couple that leave him before heaving the last ball of the over to the cover fence.

    David PayneImage source, Rex Features

David Payne's the leading wicket-taker in this season's Blast and he thought he might have picked up another with the very first ball of the final.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore swings and misses but there's no edge before the ball thuds into the keeper's gloves.

Good line from the left-armer in his opening over, which goes for four singles.

  20. Somerset fired by treble ambitionpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 14 September

Somerset v Gloucestershire (starts 18:45 BST)

Winning a trophy is a major achievement for any team, but Somerset are still in the running for three.

Victory over their neighbours in this evening's final would be the first step towards a possible treble and enable them join Leicestershire and Hampshire as three-time winners of the competition.

They are also right in contention for a first County Championship title after beating Surrey in dramatic fashion just two days ago.

And don't forget the One-Day Cup, with the Cider Boys set to take on Glamorgan at Trent Bridge on 22 September.
