A tidy enough over from Ollie Robinson.

But what Sussex really need are wickets.

Two wides, two singles and a hint of swing in the first over from Ollie Robinson.

The left arm of Bradley Currie is next up and he strays down leg with his first ball, Cameron Bancroft glancing it down to the boundary for four.

    Glos 3-0 v Sussex 106

And the chase is underway with two wides in the first two balls from Ollie Robinson.

Not a great start when you have next to nothing to defend.

A tight single brings the first runs off the bat for Miles Hammond.

  4. 'Sussex have bowlers to make life dificult'published at 16:06 British Summer Time 14 September

    Gloucestershire 0-0 v Sussex 106

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol

Can Sussex pull off something remarkable with the ball?

They do have the bowling attack to make life difficult for Gloucestershire.

  5. 'Lowest since the competition began'published at 16:04 British Summer Time 14 September

Sussex 106 all out v Gloucestershire

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

Other than rain-hit Finals Day years, when games have been reduced to less than 20 overs, Sussex's total of 106 is the lowest since the competition began in 2003.

And it eclipses a record they were responsible for - the 109 all out Somerset made when they lost the final here at Edgbaston to Sussex in 2009.

    Good luck defending that, chaps.

Gloucestershire themselves successfully defended a low total here just eight days ago on this ground, after being bowled out for 138 by the Birmingham Bears. But that was a couple of rungs higher than this.

  6. Chasing a final spotpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 14 September

    Gloucestershire v Sussex 106

Gloucestershire have successfully run down five of the seven targets they have been set in the Blast this summer.

And it will come as no surprise that Sussex's underwhelming effort is the smallest they have been asked to aim at.

Caution must still be the watchword in the reply, though, as they look for 107 to win against a talented Sharks bowling attack.

The loss of early wickets could yet wing a spanner their way.

As Sussex captain Tymal Mills tries to deliver some kind of Churchillian speech to rally his troops, it's time for a change in the BBC batting order.

    Over to you, Gideon Brooks.

  8. Glosters' match to losepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 14 September

Gloucestershire v Sussex 106 all out

Sussex have left 11 balls unused there - a cardinal sin in such a short form of the game.

Outstanding effort in the field from Gloucestershire, though.

Excellent, tight bowling from David Payne put the squeeze on at the top and then the rest of the attack followed.

Three wickets apiece for Matt Taylor and Tom Smith with no Sussex batter able to make any sort of meaningful contribution.

This is very much the Glosters' match to lose now.

  9. Postpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 14 September

Gloucestershire seamer Matt Taylor told Sky Sports:

"It's a little bit dry, so slower balls are holding (in the surface). This group of guys have worked really hard over the last couple of years. We just need a platform and then hopefully we can go on and get it done."

  10. 'Super catch'published at 15:53 British Summer Time 14 September

    Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special commentator on BBC Sounds

Super catch, it went low it went flat, the fielder had to run in and take it two- handed.

That is the end of the Sussex innings.

    Breaking

Gloucestershire v Sussex 106 all out

Jack Carson decides the penultimate over means he has to push the accelerator.

    Doesn't work!

He thumps Josh Shaw's first ball straight to Miles Hammond out in the deep - a fourth catch in the innings for him. Very safe hands!

Carson goes for 26, the highest score of the Sussex card.

  12. Major Payne for Sussexpublished at 18 overs

    Gloucestershire v Sussex 106-9

David Payne is into his final over.

Messrs Carson and Currie don't dare risk giving it away against the wily left-armer.

Not the wickets like in the quarter-final from Payne, but excellent control.

He concedes only ONE run in the 18th over to finish with 1-9 from his spell.

    Outstanding.

  13. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Gloucestershire v Sussex 105-9

The Sussex innings is in tatters.

Brad Currie and Jack Carson are holding the fort as they gather just three singles from Josh Shaw.

They will do well to make 120.

  14. Hat-trick ballpublished at 16 overs

    Gloucestershire v Sussex 102-9

No.11 Brad Currie watchfully blocks Tom Smith's hat-trick attempt.

But the left-armer finishes with great figures of 3-25 from his four overs.

A first-baller for the Sussex skipper!

Tom Smith is on a hat-trick!!

Superb work from him and wicketkeeper James Bracey as the spinner spots Tymal Mills down the wicket and spears it down leg.

It's given as a wide, but Bracey's sharp hands do the rest with Mills out of his ground. Jack Russell-esque there from Bracey!

  16. 'I think Robinson had the right idea there'published at 15:41 British Summer Time 14 September

    Daniel Bell-Drummond
Kent captain on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I think Robinson had the right idea there, you could feel him itching.

Got himself into the partnership and wanted to get going.

But Ollie Robinson won't be around to lead Sussex through to the end of the innings.

He comes down the wicket to try to hit Tom Smith down the ground but succeeds only in picking out the field in the deep at long-off.

The useful partnership between him and Jack Carson ends at 37.

  18. 100 runs

100 up for Sussexpublished at 15.4 overs

    Gloucestershire v Sussex 101-7

Gloucestershire defended 138 on this ground only eight days ago under the lights against Birmingham Bears.

Sussex need 40-odd to get there.

Ollie Robinson scoops a couple into the deep to at least bring up the hundred.

What is a good score from here for Sussex? 120? 130?

They have 36 balls left to try to reach some kind of defendable target.
