Guess what? The light meter is out again.

    Kent 293 & 197-5 v Lancashire 284

    Ben Watts
    BBC Radio Kent

There's a few spots of rain on the window, that'll coming from that slightly darker cloud but it should be blowing through it, it's still pretty windy out there.

We've played in darker than this today.

  4. Postpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 197-5 v Lancashire 284

Will Williams returns to the attack and gives up a single to Ekansh Singh, who moves to 23* from 88 balls with a cut shot off a shorter delivery.

Mo Rizvi negotiates the last couple of balls without alarm.

The umpires are taking a light reading.

  5. Close of play at Northamptonpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time

    Northants 413-9 v Glam 467

Conditions have not improved much and day three of this game is over.

A useful (truncated) day for Northants who have enhanced their prospects of a draw thanks to a sixth century of the season from Saif Zaib.

    Notts 34-1 - target 136

Change of bowling. Matt Waite is on in place of Tom Taylor.

    Gun barrel straight from Waite.

McCann drives down the ground but the ball is part stopped by the bowler.

  8. Pitch inspection at 17:25 BSTpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 276-2 v Warwickshire 248

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time

    Finch lbw b Stanley 4 - Kent 293 & 196-5 v Lancashire 284

Ekansh Singh pops a delivery from Mitch Stanley back down the track, but out of the reach of the bowler in his follow through.

Singh carves the next ball backward of point for a couple and then adds a single to move to 22*.

Harry Finch back on strike... and HE'S OUT.

Coming forward in defence, missing the ball, which hits the pad infront of off stump.

Up goes the finger. Stanley has 2-10 in this spell and looks some bowler.

The lead is 205 with Mo Rizvi striding out next.

  10. Postpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time

    Notts 34-1 - target 136

We are carrying on. For now.

Full and driven through extra cover by Ben Slater for four.

    Over bowled. Notts need 102.

  11. Postpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time

    Notts 30-1 - target 136

Too full from Ben Allison and the other Ben (Slater) clips it away leg side for four.

He goes back and across to cut but is stopped at backward point.

    Rehaan Edavalath is there.

Allison is round the wicket as a dark cloud approaches overhead.

Slater squeezes the ball leg side with bat and pad.

The light meter is out again...

  12. Postpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 193-4 v Lancashire 284

Huge shout for a caught behind against Ekansh Singh as Matty Hurst takes a catch off George Balderson, standing up to the stumps.

Singh is unmoved, and so is the umpire, despite the vociferous appeal.

A single brings Harry Finch onto strike for the first time and he unleashes a glorious cover drive through a gap for a boundary.

That takes the Kent lead above 200.

  13. Postpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time

    Notts 26-1 - target 136

Tight line from Tom Taylor and Ben Slater is defending.

A pause in play as Umpire Tom Lungley asks a spectator to move out of Slater's eyeline at an adjacent stand.

Single to Slater to end the over.

Ben Allison will continue from the New Road End.

  14. 'Stanley deserves that wicket'published at 16:50 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 188-4 v Lancashire 284

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Mitch Stanley deserves that wicket, he really has run in hard, tons of commitment and he's tried to work both batter over.

  15. Latest from Leicesterpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time

    Leics 342 v Glos 482 & 8-0

The umpires have taken a look and decided that there is still life left in day three of this match.

If there is no further rain, play will resume at 5.30pm with 11 overs to be bowled.

  16. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time

    Notts 25-1 - target 136

Three balls left in the Tom Taylor over.

He's bowling to Notts opener Ben Slater.

  17. Close of play at Lord'spublished at 16:47 British Summer Time

    Middlesex 298 v Derbyshire 283 & 33-1

Like so many other grounds around the country, only a brief passage of play was possible on day three between Middlesex and Derbyshire.

The visitors resumed on 17-0 and added 13 to that before opener Caleb Jewell was bowled by Ryan Higgins for nine.

A rain interruption followed and only three more overs were bowled as Derbyshire moved ahead by 18 runs.

A draw is now very much the most likely result, which would not really do either side nay favours in the race for promotion.

  18. Back on at New Roadpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time

    Notts 25-1 - target 136

    Now then...

The umpires are back in the middle. No players though.

    Ah, here they come...

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time

    Denly c Hurst b Stanley - Kent 293 & 188-4 v Lancashire 284

Joe Denly is definitely struggling to pick up the pace of Mitch Stanley and has to deflect the ball away off his hip this time to scamper a leg bye, though it does at least get him out of the firing line for a bit.

His nephew Jaydn is currently walking a lap of the ground wearing what BBC Radio Lancashire commentator describes as looking like a pair of complimentary white hotel slippers.

Ekansh Singh loops a single safe bringing Denly back onto strike, AND HE'S GONE.

Stanley finds the edge as Denly drives and Matty Hurst takes a low catch behind the stumps.

Skipper Harry Finch is the new batter.

  20. 'I wouldn't give up on this one yet'published at 16:46 British Summer Time

Notts 25-1 - target 136 - Bad light stops play

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

This time they actually go off the field, last time the players hung around hope they'd be recalled by the umpires.

We may not be too far from another shower, it's all very disappointing.

I wouldn't give up on this one yet, potentially we could be going for another couple of hours yet.
