Kent 293 & 170-3 v Lancashire 284
Joe Denly and Ekansh Singh combine for nine off the Mitch Stanley over, the lead is 179... and I'm going to have a rant.
We all love cricket here at BBC Sport but my goodness does it get in its own way sometimes...
They are walking off for tea.
The sun was out and the covers were off at Canterbury at 2.55pm... they came back to the middle at 3.10pm after a rain delay of 2hrs and 55mins.
They have played a 50-minute session and are now heading off for a 20-minute break, all the while it is dry and playable.
There is, however, an apocalyptic band of rain sweeping across Kent from the west and if they get back out after tea, or for more than a few overs in the evening session, I'd be flabbergasted.
Anyway, yes, tea at Canterbury, Kent lead by 179.
Notts 12-1 - target 136
Slightly revised restart time of 16:15.
Kent 293 & 168-3 v Lancashire 284
Joe Denly has got his timing right this time, lining up a short ball from Mitch Stanley and depositing it over the deep square leg boundary for a maximum.
Kent 293 & 161-3 v Lancashire 284
Joe Denly gets an inside edge onto his pad off George Balderson to start the over, which is a seventh maiden in 13 for the bowler.
Kent 293 & 161-3 v Lancashire 284
Joe Denly and Ekansh Singh pick up three singles off the pacey Mitch Stanley, who is making the most of the overcast conditions at Canterbury and banging them in short at Denly who can only fend them off into the leg side without great conviction.
The lead is up to 170.
Kent 293 & 158-3 v Lancashire 284
A fifth maiden over out of 12 from George Balderson.
Ekansh Singh has 10* from 52 balls.
Notts 12-1 - target 136
We went off for bad light a few minutes ago at which point it started to rain.
The plan if fate will stop being quite so unkind is to resume at 16:05.
Kent 293 & 158-3 v Lancashire 284
Another slice of luck for Joe Denly as he gets an inside edge off Mitch Stanley which flies behind his timbers allowing him to scamper a couple to get off the mark.
Stanley almost cuts Denly in half from the final delivery with Denly's attempt at a back-foot defensive shot missing the edge by millimetres.
Kent lead by 167. Testing times for the hosts at present though.
Middx 298 v Derbys 283 & 33-1
The players were about to take the field for a 3.40pm restart. Guess what? Yes, it's raining again.
I suppose we shouldn't complain when we have had so much good weather this summer, but where is Victor Meldrew when you need him?
"I don't believe it!"

Hopefully tea will be taken and we get a swift announcement to confirm that.
We've had just 10 deliveries and hopefully sometime over the next 24 hours this game will reach a conclusion one way or another.
Evison c Hurst b Balderson 26 - Kent 293 & 155-3 v Lancashire 284
Lancashire have their breakthrough as George Balderson produces a fine delivery which draws Joey Evison forward, moves away a fraction, and glances the edge for a routine catch for Matty Hurst.
Joe Denly is the new batter, joining Ekansh Singh who is less than half his age. Sorry Joe. He's the concussion sub for Tawanda Muyeye, who made 48 in the first innings.
Denly survives a huge lbw shout from his first ball as Balderson registers a wicket-maiden.
Surrey 246 & 276-2 v Warwickshire 248
Tea will end any second now, but the covers have come back on at The Oval and the radar gives little room for optimism in the next hour at least.
Will keep you posted.
Hampshire men's head coach Adrian Birrell will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 64-year-old South African joined Hants in December 2018 and won the T20 Blast with the Hawks in 2022.
"It's really sad when you move on and I've had a fantastic seven years," Birrell told BBC Radio Solent.
"I have had the best job in England, but like everything, things come to an end and I'm not the youngest coach around. It's time to move on for me and the team, I can't commit to the next 4-5 years, it will take another cycle for a coach to come in."

Oh please! Umpire Ben Debenham has a light meter out.
We're going off. Eight runs added and 10 deliveries bowled since the resumption.
Another cruel twist of fate.
Oh, it's raining again as well.
Notts 12-1 - target 136
Khurram Shahzad is on at the other end and Ben Slater is still looking to get off the mark.
He checks a drive to Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira at mid on. No run.
Maiden over and Slater has faced 18 balls for no run.
Kent 293 & 154-2 v Lancashire 284
Kent have nudged and nurdled the lead up to 160 runs with Joey Evison on 22* and Ekansh Singh 9*, though George Balderson has just beaten Evison's bat with one which moved off the slope from the Nackington Road End.
Evison then uses the edge to guide the ball down to third for three runs to reach 25* with some soft hands.
163 is the lead for Kent.
Notts 12-1 - target 136
Bright start for Notts number three Freddie McCann, who clips four through mid wicket and blasts four more with a neat clip through the leg side.
He's in no mood to hang around and given the patchy forecast, that is entirely understandable.

It's looking pretty ominous.
We've had two overs of cricket and I rather fear that will be it for the day.
Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire 17-0
If you are of a certain age, you will recall a song by The Fortunes called 'Here It Comes Again'.
Well, here it comes again at Taunton. Two overs into the Yorkshire first innings and the teams are again off the field.
