I think it's been established, since my Ashes stint in Australia, that I am absolutely terrified of spiders.

So you can imagine my shock when I was in bed last night and saw this monstrosity scuttling across the floor out of the corner of my eye.

I screamed, frantically called Henry Moeran for help, and then struggled to sleep until about 1am out of pure fear.

As soon as the ball is past the infield, it is basically four runs whether you have timed it well or not.

There's a third four for Harleen Deol.

She squeezes Udeshika Prabodhani's delivery past backward point and it races away to the ropes across a quick outfield.

Yeah, nothing in that.

The ball came off the bottom of Harleen Deol's bat, hit the ground and passed through to the keeper.

Maybe Sri Lanka's fielders thought it came off the batter's boot - I'm not sure how though, as her foot wasn't especially close.

That felt to me very much not out in real time, however we are quite a distance away.

They seem to think there's a chance of a caught behind - I'm not sure how as the ball seemed to bounce before reaching the keeper.

Still, the umpires are going to take a look.

Brilliant start by Sri Lanka, getting the big wicket of the run machine Smriti Mandhana. She is the one player that is feared by everyone.

Sri Lanka have kept the stumps in play and have given India nothing.

A quiet third over for Achini Kulasuriya - just a single from it.

It's an experienced opening duo for Sri Lanka - Kulasuriya is 35, while Udeshika Prabodhani turned 40 earlier this month.

How quick is the outfield?

That was timed beautifully by Harleen Deol but the ball looked like it was just running down a hill.

It was the lack of pace from the bowler. It was outside the off stump and was there to be hit. Any other bowler and that would have been straight for four.

Well taken in the deep and Sri Lanka have the big one.
