    Thanks Matthew.

I'm not sure many people consider themselves lucky when I make my arrival somewhere.

Unless it's an arrival at the crease, in which case any bowler can consider themselves extremely fortunate.

I enjoyed that. Here's Mike Peter for the first time in the Test you lucky people...

Zimbabwe have only lost one wicket in the morning session. Ben Curran is still there, Sean Williams will feel like he should still be there. It was as marginal as it gets for an lbw.

Ben Stokes throws in two leg slips for Shoaib Bashir's final ball of the session but, despite it being a good one from England's spinner, Sikandar Raza successfully gets through it unscathed.

Zimbabwe lost that wicket just before the break but that is still an excellent session for them. They have battled hard and made sure this was not a procession for England.

Shouldn’t there be a “too close to call” rather than just “umpires call”? No one could with total certainty say that was hitting, and the ball tracking proved it. With benefit of the doubt due to the batsmen, surely that should not have been given?

This ploy of bouncers from Josh Tongue may have run its course. He's looking a bit tired. He'll get a sit down in a couple of minutes at least because lunch is coming up.

That is only the second time Shoaib Bashir has dismissed a left-handed batter in Tests when they have attempted a sweep shot against him. Before that, he had conceded 113 runs off 56 balls. Sean Williams, on the other hand, has been dismissed 10 times while playing the sweep in Tests at an average of 24.

England needed that. They were looking a little bit like 'crikey, what are we going to do now?' They weren't able to bowl maidens and maintain pressure. They were clutching at straws a bit but a little bit of luck goes your way and you get back on the journey.

Software engineer turned international cricketer Sikandar Raza is the new man.

We've just seen a replay of the disappointed on Ben Curran and Sean Williams' faces when that dismissal was confirmed. Both shut their eyes and rocked back their heads.

    Williams had played so well...

He's not happy. I can feel for him there. It's grazing the top of the stump.

That really was a tight one. The absolute top of leg stump. Williams tosses his bat in the air and then hits the ground hard. He raises his bat to the crowd. He's played a fine innings.

Only just clipping the tiniest bit of the top of leg stump! Sean Williams will not get that century. He has to walk off for 88 but gets a big ovation from this crowd.

Given lbw again! This time it's Sean Williams and this one looked a lot closer.

Has Shoaib Bashir got England's first of the morning?

Ben Curran does a better job of getting in behind Josh Tongue's bouncers in this over. Be honest, we had their money on a wicketless first session?

I think I can see Ben Curran's mum celebrating in the stands.

  19. Zim 125-2published at 31 overs

    Curran 31, Williams 87

Ben Curran definitely thought he was out after the first replay on the big screen. He was already walking off with his bat tucked under his arm. It was straight enough but too high.

It's a bit of a tell when the umpire takes that amount of time and then the finger goes up.
