We don't have time to talk about Joe Root because he rushes through his overs.

Joe Root flies through an over at speed Ravindra Jadeja would be proud of. I'm not sure you'd even have time to get to the kettle by the time he's finished, never mind make a cuppa.

Wonderful to see Zimbabwe touring England again, a reminder that cricket’s quieter corners hold remarkable stories. On that note, our Sunday side, Believers CC, is heading to The Gambia in November to face their national team - possibly a world first for an amateur club. What’s the most unusual or unexpected tour an English side - or any team - has ever done?

Williams hits Tongue down the ground for four to bring up half-century

Each of the last five half-centuries scored against England in England have come at a strike-rate of more than 80 (at the point of reaching the half century), with three of them coming at a rate better than run-a-ball.

Sean Williams is the latest entrant on that list. Brian Bennett did it in the first innings while Pathum Nissanka did it in both innings in the Test at The Oval last year. When opposition batters have got on song, the English attack has failed to stifle the flow of runs in the recent past.

This crowd applauds again as as Zimbabwe nudge their way beyond 100. I wonder how they're feeling. The majority will be supporting England but it now looks like they're going to get a lot more cricket for their money.

Michael Vaughan told me he packed his bag expecting this to finish today and walked past Blessing Muzarabani near the gym. I think Vaughany said he was a little embarrassed when Blessing asked if he didn't expect it to go to a fourth day.

Tom Curran is still sat in the stands again today supporting his younger brother Ben.

Ben played with Gus Atkinson for Surrey Seconds when he was younger but now he's watching from the other end as Sean Williams whacks the England quick for four again.

Like the look of Josh Tongue. Watched him at Headingley last year, built like a barn door and will do well with just a bit more control.

Having been patched up, Sean Williams can only grin after Josh Tongue's finally concludes with a ripper that narrowly misses his edge and off stump.

It's been a really good innings from Sean Williams. He's played with real clarity of mind, he's looked to score, he's timed the ball perfectly. The veteran is trying to catch the youngster who did it for Zimbabwe yesterday.

That's better from Josh Tongue. He finds a bit of life from the surface and Sean Williams, who was looking to work the ball to leg, is hit on the back wrist.

It has hurt the veteran left-hander. On comes the physio.

The rest of the players are going to take a drinks break a ball early.

76mph - enough to risk a ticket on the M6, unlikely to get many wickets at Test level.

It might be time for a bit of spin, despite the conditions. Sean Williams steers Gus Atkinson away for four now. England will be pleased for the break at drinks in a few moments.

There's Zimbabwean chanting and singing going on in the stands with a lot of kids among them. The flags are waving too.

Anyone holding out hope this match might finish before the play-off final - and I name no names here - may be disappointed.
