Big wicket for Hampshire as Jack Haynes departs!

  3. Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 129-0 f/o

Ben Compton has barely been noticed in this partnership with Zak Crawley but he's playing a fine hand of his own.

He moves to 42 with a fine leg glance for four off the bowling of Lewis Gregory.

  4. wicket

WICKET: Westley lbw b Simmons 18published at 14:47 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 65-3 (target 330) v Warwickshire

And sure enough, those Essex supporters are feeling a little deflated again now...

Tom Westley is on his way, forced onto the back foot and rapped on the pads by a ball from Che Simmons that prompts the umpire to raise his finger.

Three down as Jordan Cox makes his way to the middle.

  5. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 123-0 f/o

Zak Crawley is keen to continue attacking the spin of Jack Leach as he charges down the track, moves outside the line and tries to drive through long on but doesn't clear the field this time.

He plays from the crease instead after that and sweeps the last ball behind square for four.

    He's on 85.

  6. 50 partnership for Elgar and Westleypublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 64-2 (target 330) v Warwickshire

Dean Elgar and Tom Westley are beginning to score more fluently now and the home supporters' hopes have been lifted again by this partnership.

Elgar has just thumped a Che Simmons full toss to the fence at cover to take their stand to 52 and the opener has 34 now, with Westley on 18.

Still another 266 needed for victory, though - that's quite a way off.

  7. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 19 May

    Sussex v Yorkshire 86-5 (target 183)

Yorkshire need less than 100 now - 97 to be precise.

Always a little bit of comfort when you're in trouble.

  8. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 59-5 (target 513)

Gus Atkinson drops short and Matthew Waite does well riding the bounce and dropping the ball safely into the leg side for one.

Rob Jones blocks out the over.

  9. Postpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 118-0 f/o

Some more punishment for Somerset as Zak Crawley waits for Jack Leach and carves the spinner through backward point for four.

Lewis Gregory raises his arms in frustration as a fractionally leg side ball is glanced off a thick inside edge by Crawley for four more at the other end.

England opener Crawley is up to 81 off 100 balls with 15 boundaries. Dominant.

  10. 'Pace of play has dropped'published at 14:40 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 113-0 f/o

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The pace of play has dropped.

We've got Jack Leach operating briskly from one end and Lewis Gregory is taking great care in setting his field.

  11. Postpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 55-5 (target 513)

Gus Atkinson tucks Rob Jones up a little but he's still able to ride the bounce and tuck the ball off his hip for one.

Matthew Waite defends into the leg side but he might be in some discomfort as the ball strikes him on the knee.

He gets his first run off an inside edge to fine leg.

Jones evades a bouncer and defends the last ball outside off.

  12. 50 for Jack Haynespublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 19 May

Good knock by Jack Haynes, who steers Kyle Abbott for a couple on the leg side to bring up his half-century from 111 balls.

It's the third time Haynes has passed 50 this season for Nottinghamshire and the 11th overall in his first-class career.

The home side lead by 114.

  13. 'Lancashire have shown they can get within touching distance'published at 14:34 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 254-5 v Durham 236

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

I go back to that game here last year, Lancashire were set 430 to win on the final day and they got to 380 and on the back end of the day Rob Jones was batting really nicely and got a century and you're thinking Lancashire can win here, they're chasing runs down.

I wonder if that will be in the back of Lancashire's mind? They've shown that it is possible to get within touching distance.

  14. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 257-5 v Durham 236

It looks as though Keaton Jennings has decided it's time to raise the tempo and push that Lancashire lead towards 400 and beyond.

Jennings has just hammered successive boundaries off Callum Parkinson, with 12 in all coming from the over as the captain advances to 128.

Durham's response is to hand the ball to Ben Stokes in the hope he can pick up a wicket and peg the home side back.

  15. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 109-0 f/o

Somerset captain Lewis Gregory replaces Craig Overton in the Somerset attack but that doesn't deter Zak Crawley.

The fourth ball has a bit of width and Crawley drives sublimely on the front foot through mid off for four.

Has there ever been a player more completely suited to Bazball?

A shout out to Ben Compton, who has batted for 49 balls scoring an unbeaten 34 at the other end!

  16. wicket

    WICKET D'Oliveira b Atkinson 13published at 14:30 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 50-5 (target 513)

A change of bowling for Surrey as Gus Atkinson is brought into the attack, replacing Dan Worrall.

He is just back of a length, almost cutting Pears captain Brett D'Oliveira in half.

A wider fourth ball is driven behind square all along the turf for four.

That's the Pears 50 in the 20th over.

Bowled him! Extra pace and Brett D'Oliveira misses on the drive and loses his leg stump.

Matthew Waite joins Rob Jones in the middle.

  17. wicket

WICKET: Wharton b Hunt 18published at 14:27 British Summer Time 19 May

    Sussex v Yorkshire 76-5 (target 183)

    Five down!

James Wharton plays back to a short one from Sean Hunt, gets and inside edge and the ball trickles onto the stumps and dislodges a bail.

The Yorkshire batter will feel a little unlucky, but it puts Sussex firmly back in the driving seat.

  18. Crawley powers Kent past 100published at 14:24 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 101-0 f/o

Zak Crawley continues to tear into the Somerset bowling with two more fours off Craig Overton.

He drives the Somerset pacer through the off side and one ball later smashes the ball through mid wicket.

The Kent 100 arrives in the 21st over and Crawley is defying the scoreboard pressure.

  19. Postpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 39-4 (target 513)

Dan Worrall has three wickets in this Pears second innings and Rob Jones respects the line and length, defending into cover point.

Jones is beaten outside off stump by a ball that keeps low.

Nothing he could've done about that other than hope it misses.

  20. Foxes' Patel finally outpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 19 May

    Division Two latest

Rishi Patel scores centuryImage source, Rex Features

Leicestershire opener Rishi Patel has just been dismissed for an excellent 117 off 252 balls. Gloucestershire left-arm seamer Matt Taylor got the wicket with a ball that nipped back in to bowl him.

The Foxes are now 236-6 and still 466 behind Gloucestershire's mammoth 706-6 declared.

Middlesex all-rounder Ryan Higgins has picked up a couple of quick Glamorgan wickets including the big one of Sam Northeast for a duck. Glamorgan are 45-2 in their second innings and still trail by 115.

Northants are set for a decent lead against Derbyshire. They've reduced their hosts to 297-8 with Ben Sanderson picking up four wickets. Derbyshire trail by 125.
