  1. 'Contrasting approach for both sides'published at 11:10 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 93-2 v Durham 236

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

We're looking forward to another good day.

A contrasting approach I think for both of these sides. Lancashire are in a strong position because they lead by 212 runs, they have a good chance of really building a sizeable lead.

Durham need a fightback and see if they can get in and amongst the wickets.

  2. WICKET Lawrence c Smith b Gibbon 87published at 11:09 19 May

    Surrey 213 & 351-6 v Worcs 128 - lead by 436

An edge by Jordan Clark off Ben Gibbon but the ball flies past Rob Jones at a lone first slip and down third man for four.

That's the Surrey 350 in the 88th over.

Clark gets a single pushed safely into the off side.

    Dan Lawrence is out!

It's not a great delivery but the half tracker lures Lawrence into a loose pull shot, fetching the ball from outside off - and that's an easy catch for Nathan Smith at square leg.

    Sean Abbott is in next.

  3. WICKET: Rae b Harmer 5published at 11:09 19 May

    Essex 162 v Warwickshire 397 & 48-6

Six down and it's a beauty from Simon Harmer to remove nightwatchman Michael Rae.

Harmer gets one turning from outside off stump and through Rae's defences, which brings Michael Burgess to the crease.

Burgess scored a hundred in the first innings - at the moment the Bears are struggling to muster three figures between them.

  4. Postpublished at 11:06 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 114-5

    A nervous start for Kent.

Joe Denly gets a single off the third ball and Joey Evison gets a thick outside edge pushing forward to Migael Pretorius.

But the ball squirts wide of the four slips for four.

  5. Postpublished at 11:04 19 May

    Surrey 213 & 344-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 429

    Single to Dan Lawrence.

A fair LBW shout for Joe Leach, angling the ball in to Jordan Clark but it's doing a bit too much.

Clark pushes the fourth ball into the off side for a quick single.

Plenty of movement and carry for the bowler there.

Ben Gibbon will bowl his left arm seam from the Pavilion End.

  6. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:03 19 May

    Essex 162 v Warwickshire 397 & 43-5

Warwickshire’s intention was evidently to bat Essex out of the game when they chose not to make their hosts follow on – but last night’s top-order collapse may just have left the door slightly ajar.

Effectively the Bears are 278-5 in their second innings and, if Essex can knock over those five remaining wickets this morning, they’ll feel they still have some chance of completing a remarkable turnaround.

Jacob Bethell fends off the final three balls of Simon Harmer's incomplete over from last night and it'll be Sam Cook to bowl the first full over of the day.

  7. Back under way at Blackpoolpublished at 11:02 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 91-2 v Durham 236

Lancashire look nicely placed in their bid to press for a first victory of the season, leading Durham by 212 overall with eight second-innings wickets still intact.

Captain and former Durham player Keaton Jennings, who top-scored with a hundred first time around, could be pivotal to Red Rose hopes again today.

Jennings resumes on 38 not out, with nightwatchman Will Williams, who is yet to score, for company.

  8. WICKET: Young c Brown b Abbott 14published at 11:02 19 May

    Notts 235 & 33-2 v Hants 276

Kyle Abbott celebrates taking wicketImage source, Rex Features

Two balls into the day and a wicket has already fallen!

Will Young feathers one behind to Ben Brown and Kyle Abbott has his first wicket of this Nottinghamshire second innings.

Joe Clarke is the new man in.

  9. Day three begins at The Ovalpublished at 11:01 19 May

    Surrey 213 & 342-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 427

This game has evolved from tough batting conditions to serene stroke play from the blades of Dan Lawrence (86 not out) and Jordan Clark, unbeaten on 69.

They've put on 108 together in 20 overs.

But it might have been a different story had Kashif Ali held on to a chance at deep mid wicket yesterday.

At that point, Lawrence was still in single figures and Surrey were four down with a lead barely past 200.

The lead is already substantial and a declaration could come at any time unless wickets fall quickly.

Lawrence is on strike, facing Joe Leach.

  10. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 11:01 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 108-5

This game continues to gather rapid momentum despite losing half a day's play to the elements on Saturday.

Kent can realistically only strive for a draw after losing half their first innings wickets cheaply, two of them to a superb new ball spell bowled by Craig Overton.

Slow left arm spinner Jack Leach is playing his first game for Somerset this season following injury last winter and he has two wickets of his own, accounting for Ben Compton and Harry Finch on Saturday evening.

Joe Denly is 32 not out and will face the first ball of the day, to be bowled by Migael Pretorius.

The other Joe is Joey Evison and he's at the non-striker's end on 0 off 14 balls.

  11. Play resumes at Trent Bridgepublished at 11:00 19 May

    Notts 235 & 33-1 v Hants 276

It’s been something of a see-saw affair over the first couple of days at Trent Bridge, with Nottinghamshire recovering to 235 all out following an early collapse.

Then Hampshire’s top order fell apart before Liam Dawson and Keith Barker’s impressive stand of 157 guided them into a first-innings lead.

Notts are still eight runs in the red this morning as they resume on 33-1, with Ben Slater on 18 and Will Young 14.

  12. Postpublished at 10:59 19 May

  14. Sussex & Yorkshire set for tight finishpublished at 10:54 19 May

    Div Two round-up

Some late resistance on day two from Tom Alsop and Jack Carson gave Sussex a chance of setting Yorkshire a tough target to chase at Hove. They'll resume on 194-7 with a lead of 149.

Leicestershire are almost certain to follow on against Gloucestershire after the visitors made their first-class record score of 706-6 at Grace Road.

The Foxes start the day on 133-5 in their first innings.

Middlesex are 303-6 and in a good position at Glamorgan, leading by 120.

Derbyshire are 170-2 in their first innings against Northants, still trailing by 252.

  15. Surrey set to stretch lead at toppublished at 10:50 19 May

Defending county champions and Division One leaders Surrey are on course to maintain their unbeaten start as they enter day three with a 427-run lead over Worcestershire and five wickets still in hand.

Dan Lawrence (86*) and Jordan Clark (69*) will resume with their stand worth 108.

Essex fought back with late wickets against Warwickshire but face a tough task to get anything from the game.

The Bears are 43-5 in their second innings, but lead by 278.

Lancashire and Somerset are both well on top against Durham and Kent respectively, while the game between Notts and Hampshire is evenly poised.
