    Essex 37-2 (target 330) v Warwickshire

Warwickshire debutant Che Simmons caught the eye during Essex's first innings, taking 3-12 and the Barbadian seamer has just been handed the ball for the first time today.

Simmons' first over yields just a single to Dean Elgar, who is on 18, while there's also a play and miss from Tom Westley. The Essex skipper remains there, nine not out.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Zak Crawleypublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 86-0 f/o

Zak Crawley is scoring at a more than decent rate here, taking successive fours off Jack Leach with a whip through mid wicket and a cut through point.

He gets three more fours off the bowling of Craig Overton at the other end, starting with a glance through square leg, followed by a drive through mid off and finally a gorgeous drive straight down the ground.

In the blink of an eye, he has his first 50 of the season in 68 balls with nine fours. Such a joy to watch when in full cry.

It's taken a while to see his best form this season but it's here in emphatic style now.

  3. WICKET: Bruce c Robinson b Parkinson 43published at 14:14 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 235-5 v Durham 236

Tom Bruce narrowly missed out on a half-century in the first innings and it's a similar story second time around.

Bruce takes a swing at left-arm spinner Callum Parkinson and the thick edge is snapped up by Ollie Robinson behind the stumps.

The New Zealander added exactly 100 for the fifth wicket with Keaton Jennings, who is still there on 109 and has now been joined by George Balderson.

  4. wicket

WICKET Hose c Foakes b Worrallpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 34-4 (target 513)

Dan Worrall begins his eighth over bowling a straight line to Adam Hose, who moves across his stumps to play into the on side.

Worrall pushes the ball just outside an off stump line, getting Hose to play and miss.

Edged and out! Ben Foakes takes it behind the stump, jumping in front of first slip.

Adam Hose has gone for a seven-ball single after a slightly belated departure from the crease.

Pears captain Brett D'Oliveira is in next.

  5. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 64-0 f/o

Zak Crawley stretches forward to drive Craig Overton through the off side and a brilliant diving stop at extra cover prevents the run.

The straight drive is covered by a silly mid on and for the time being, that shot is left alone.

    Maiden over.

  6. Postpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 19 May

    Sussex v Yorkshire 54-4 (target 183)

James Wharton has come in at six for Yorkshire and has already struck a couple of boundaries after lunch.

129 more needed for the visitors, six more wickets for Sussex.

  7. wicket

WICKET Libby c Foakes b Worrallpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 30-3 (target 513)

Dan Worrall strikes and Jake Libby is stuck on the crease, dabbing his bat down and edging behind to keeper Ben Foakes.

The Pears are in big trouble as Adam Hose comes into the middle.

  8. wicket

WICKET: Clarke c Brown b Abbas 57published at 14:01 British Summer Time 19 May

    Notts 235 & 140-5 v Hants 276

Well, we said Joe Clarke goes big when he gets past 50 - but he hasn't this time.

Clarke tries to hook a short ball from Mohammad Abbas and ends up almost swatting it limply into the gloves of Ben Brown.

Hampshire badly needed that after Clarke's stand of 96 with Jack Haynes, which has taken the home side into a 99-run lead.

  9. Postpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 63-0 f/o

More runs for Zak Crawley as he seizes on a bit of width from Craig Overton unfurls a flowing drive through mid off.

He gets a single off the fifth ball and Ben Compton completes the over driving a very full ball down the ground for four more.

  10. 'A quality catch from Dan Lawrence'published at 13:59 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 28-2 (target 513)

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Dan Lawrence got really good hands on it.

That is a quality catch, really good bit of work around the corner. They're never easy there, you do see them late, the body blocks the ball so you seem them even later as you would a normal slip catch.

  11. wicket

WICKET Ali c Lawrence b Roach 12published at 13:57 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 28-2 (target 513)

The leg side ploy has worked!

Kemar Roach draws Kashif Ali into following the ball round the corner and an attempted glance pops the ball up to Dan Lawrence at a leg gully.

    Rob jones is in next.

  12. 'There's a calm feeling around the ground'published at 13:56 British Summer Time 19 May

    Lancashire 357 & 219-4 v Durham 236

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

After a raucous end to the morning session as Keaton Jennings left the field to a standing ovation - it's kind of settled where it started for most of the morning, quite a calm and sedate feeling around the ground.

  13. Postpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 54-0 f/o

Zak Crawley is forward to Jack Leach, pushing the ball into mid off for one to take Kent to 50 in the 14th over.

Ben Compton clips the last ball all along the ground through fine leg for four.

No early alarms for Kent and the next over will be bowled by Craig Overton.

  14. Afternoon session begins at Tauntonpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 19 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 47-0 f/o

The umpires are making their way back to the middle.

Kent need to play this over, by over and session by session as they strive to take as much time out of the game as possible to force the draw.

Zak Crawley is 23 not out and he'll take guard to left arm spinner, Jack Leach.

Ben Compton has 22 not out at the non striker's end.

  15. Postpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 24-1 (target 513)

Dan Worrall is bowling leg side but that may be deliberate to bring the leg slip into play.

Kashif Ali gets a single off the last ball of the over, pushed past Jordan Clark at mid on.

  16. Back under way at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 19 May

    Notts 235 & 132-4 v Hants 276

Hampshire will be looking to begin this second session as they did the first - with a clatter of Notts wickets.

So far, though, Joe Clarke and Jack Haynes have continued where they left off before lunch, adding six more to the total and extending their side's advantage to 91.

  17. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 23-1 (target 513)

Kemar Roach will bowl to Jake Libby.

Two short mid wickets have been set by Surrey captain Rory Burns.

Libby defends safely to Gus Atkinson at point.

He's beaten by the last ball outside off.

    Maiden over.

  18. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 23-1 (target 513)

Dan Worrall begins the over wide of off stump and pushes the ball out wider still as Jake Libby leaves it alone.

Worrall straightens his line and Libby gets a single off an outside edge off the last ball of the over.

  19. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 19 May

    Essex 24-2 (target 330) v Warwickshire

Dean Elgar makes an encouraging start to the afternoon session from an Essex perspective, dispatching Olly Hannon-Dalby's second ball to the rope to move into double figures.

A very long way to go for Essex after losing those two early wickets to Michael Rae, but you never know what might happen if they can get a partnership going.

  20. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 19 May

    Surrey v Worcs 22-1 (target 513)

In spite of the daunting score line from a Pears perspective, this surface looks quite settled after the heavy roller and there could be plenty of runs to be scored if Jake Libby and Kashif Ali can get through the new ball.

Libby is on strike facing Dan Worrall on 10 not out.

    Kashif Ali has seven.
