Kerr has conceded just 13 runs from her 18 balls.

  2. Not outpublished at 6 overs

    Ind 43-3

Not all that far away - pretty straight and ball tracking says just about bouncing over the stumps.

Ghosh gets off the mark from the final ball of the over, turning the ball to mid-wicket for a single and taking India to 43-3.

That's the end of the powerplay - an excellent one for India.

  3. Umpire reviewpublished at 5.4 overs

    Maybe even more trouble!

Mair hits the pads of new batter Richa Ghosh, defending back in her crease.

It's a no this time from umpire Anna Harris, New Zealand give a review a whirl.

Her review is not optimistic, she knows that there is no bat on it. I think she's more worried about the position her team will be in if she is out.

  6. Umpire reviewpublished at 5,3 overs

    The captain is in trouble...

Rosemary Mair becomes the third New Zealand bowler to change ends in the powerplay, and it looks like she's trapped Harmanpreet in front of her stumps.

She misses playing across the line and Anna Harris' finger goes straight up.

The India skipper sends the decision upstairs - she has to, really.

  7. Ind 34-2published at 5 overs

Jemimah Rodrigues is in at four for India and she faces the boundary from the first legitimate delivery she faces, sweeping to the square leg ropes.

India's required run-rate is up at 8.46 per over, having started at 8.05.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.4 overs

    Mandhana c Green b Carson 12 (Ind 28-2)

    Now Mandhana falls!

Having seen Harmanpreet sweep Eden Carson dramatically to the boundary, the India opener decides to go for the boundary down the ground but picks out Maddy Green at long-on.

Another crucial wicket for New Zealand - Carson and Jess Kerr have swapped ends and it's gone very well.

  10. Ind 21-1published at 4 overs

Another tidy over within the powerplay for Jess Kerr, with India taking just a couple of singles from the opening two balls of the over.

New Zealand were 35-0 at this stage.

That's a beautiful shot. She just opened the face of the bat and let it glide to the boundary. And it was a much-needed boundary as well...

  12. Ind 19-1published at 3 overs

Smriti Mandhana denies seamer Rosemary Mair an opening maiden, advancing down the pitch then adapting to jam her bat down and guide the ball to the boundary at third.

  13. Ind 15-1published at 2 overs

That wicket brings captain Harmanpreet Kaur to the crease and gets off the mark immediately with an edge over keeper Izzy Gaze while attempting the reverse sweep.

A bold opening shot, she gets two with a more conventional push to mid-wicket from the final ball of the over.

That is a big, big wicket. It was such a soft dismissal, and will certainly calm Eden Carson's nerves at the start of her first over.

I loved how Georgia Plimmer went about this game. She came out with so much intent and that gave Sophie Devine a good platform to work from. Sophie ran really well throughout and will need to recover quickly before they come out for the next innings.
