That's the second consecutive boundary. It's like London buses, you wait ages for one and then two come at once!

Asha Sobhana returns to the attack but her first two deliveries are hit for boundaries by Sophie Devine - first through the mid-off and then square on the leg side.New Zealand then take one run each in the next four deliveries as they inch towards the 100-mark.

We were somewhat worried about what crowds we would get here, but there is a really decent crowd today and the atmosphere reflects that.

  5. Devine survivespublished at 11.3 overs

Sophie Devine had to stretch but the replays show she managed to get over the line before the bails were broken. The New Zealand captain survives.

  6. Umpire reviewpublished at 11.3 overs

There is a mix-up between Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine and it is the New Zealand skipper who could be in danger of being run out. The umpire goes to the television umpire to have a look.

The humidity tends to rise in the evening and that, as you can imagine, brings dew, which can of course play a factor on these pitches.

  8. NZ 75-2published at 11 overs

Asha Sobhana is back for her third over after the drinks and only gives away three runs. New Zealand captain Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr have a rebuild on their hands here.

Thanks Tim! India have somewhat managed to put the break on the New Zealand innings with back-to-back wickets, but a very crucial few overs coming up here for both the sides.

  10. drinks break

The players take a quick bit of liquid refreshment on board which is my cue to hand over to Adwaidh Rajan.

He's making his live text commentary debut. Go easy on him, folks.

150 to 160 runs is what I want to see. The India press seem to think that India have gone in with a batter short, so it will be interesting to see if India can prove them wrong.

  12. NZ 72-2published at 10 overs

Somewhat more sedate from Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine after that bombastic opening partnership as they struggle to find the boundary against Arundhati Reddy.

Four runs - all in singles - off Reddy's over.

We didn't see this coming. I know we talked about New Zealand beforehand and how they had played quite poorly over the summer. But, they've come at India here with some real fight.

  14. NZ 68-2published at 9 overs

Superb from Asha Sobhana, who has put down a barricade to slow down the New Zealand juggernaut.

A wicket and just one run off her second over.

Both openers are gone and suddenly India feel a lot more confident in life. New Zealand seem to have lost their momentum.

    Plimmer c Mandhana b Sobhana 34 (NZ 67-2)

Georgia Plimmer skips down the pitch and biffs Asha Sobhana down the ground. The Kiwi hits it cleanly enough but does not quite get the height she needed on it.

The ball drops out of the night sky and Smriti Mandhana comfortably takes the catch at long-on.

    Much better from India.

It's sometimes easy to lose the ball in those floodlights, but Shreyanka Patil has it safely in her hands!
