  1. 6 runs

Phoenix 46-1published at 70 balls left

    135 runs needed

    Another six for Will Smeed!

Spinner Rashid Khan enters the attack and goes for just two off his first four balls.

No matter - the Phoenix opener sends the set's last ball flying over the mid-wicket ropes.

A decent powerplay for Birmingham Phoenix.

It has been a funny old game today where the powerplay has almost been dominated by the bowlers and then it almost gets easier out of the powerplay.

It is still a big target, but Birmingham Phoenix are in front of where Oval Invincibles were at this stage.

  3. 6 runs

Phoenix 38-1published at 75 balls left

    Four, six, six!

Will Smeed had been on four off 10 having played out two dot balls from Saqib Mahmood, but he bursts into life at the close of the powerplay.

The Invincibles seamer sits one up and Smeed pummels it through mid-wicket for a one-bounce boundary, then whips a shot off his legs clean over the square boundary.

He sends the set's last ball straight onto the rope at fine leg, moving to 20 from 13.

Invincibles were 31-2 at this stage.

  4. Phoenix 22-1published at 80 balls left

    159 runs needed

The parsimonious Jason Behrendorff returns and Joe Clarke does some damage to his figures with consecutive fours to end the set.

He sends a slower ball down the ground and then gets one over mid-on off the bottom of the bat.

A brilliant piece of bowling from Saqib Mahmood!

He has gone full at Ben Duckett - and that would've been the plan because he usually sweats on the short delivery.

They will have been trying to get the ball underneath his bat, so it has all gone to plan there.

  6. Phoenix 13-1published at 85 balls left

    168 runs needed

Joe Clarke arrives at the crease and gets off the mark from his second ball, inside edging through backward square and running three.

Oval Invincibles have made a brilliant start here. We were saying that Birmingham Phoenix would want to get off to a flyer to keep this game alive.

The win predictor will be so far towards the Oval Invincibles now, so Birmingham Phoenix will have to kick on at some stage - but it only takes one batter to get in and fire up the score.

    Four and out!

Ben Duckett, lofts Saqib Mahmood's second ball over extra cover for a first boundary, but is cleaned up by the seamer's third.

It's a cracking yorker and Duckett can't get enough bat down on it - a big early blow for Birmingham Phoenix.

The pressure is building up on the two batters now. They haven't been able to get off yet.

They are going to have to start motoring at some stage...

  10. Phoenix 5-0published at 90 balls left

    176 runs needed

Ben Duckett gets off the mark with a hustled two after pushing the ball square.

Just two further singles from Behrendorff's second five balls - very strong stuff.

Batters scored only 23 runs off 27 deliveries in the 6-8 metre region in the first innings, a strike-rate of just 85. They struck at 170 facing full deliveries and 180 against anything short.

  12. Phoenix 1-0published at 95 balls left

    180 runs needed

Very tidy first five deliveries from Jason Behrendorff, just a Will Smeed single sent square coming from it.

Behrendorff, who has figures of 1-17 and 2-16 from his first two matches, is going to take another five balls.

Time to get going, Will Smeed is going to face with Ben Duckett at the other end.

Towering Australian left-arm seamer Jason Behrendorff is going to take the first five balls.

WinViz has the bowling side as firm favourites.

Birmingham Phoenix's overseas players brought them 34-3, so you were thinking this would be the day they got their tournament up and running, but then Oval Invincibles had the confidence to keep going because of their record.

They scored at such a good rate and that innings from Donovan Ferreira was just extraordinary. He is a man mountain but he also has a great swing.

A massive match-up to look out for is Liam Livingstone against Rashid Khan.

Liam Livingstone got hold of him in the previous tournament that they played in together, so it will be interesting to see if Livingstone goes after Khan again.

We know this is a decent surface now and, when the lights come on, it might get even better.

    Thanks Matthew.

I'm inclined to agree, but you never know - Liam Livingstone could be in one of his moods.

I'm backing the Invincibles from here. They have something the Phoenix lacked, proper spinners, while still having the threat of Saqib Mahmood up top.

I'll leave you in the hands of Mike Peter.

Six of Donovan Ferreira's ten T20 half-centuries have come in under 25 deliveries, including today's off 24 balls.

This match was very much in the balance when he walked in to bat, with WinViz at 48% for Oval Invincibles. At the innings break, following his 63 off just 29, Invincibles are now firm favourites at 76%.

I'm excited to see Rashid Khan bowl in this match. I think he is going to be a great challenge, with his variations and the way that he bowls, but then you have the likes of Jacob Bethell up the order.

I think wickets are going to be key in the powerplay, as cliche as that is.

There have only been two chases higher than 181 across the four previous seasons of the men's Hundred.

It's a big ask for Birmingham Phoenix who are yet to win a game this year.
