There's the first six! It wasn't that short from Adam Milne but Jordan Cox manages to swipe it over the leg side.

You need to get the ball higher to Cox.

The introduction of another New Zealander in Adam Milne allows Jordan Cox to score the first run but Tawanda Muyeye wafts at Milne's second delivery.

That is excellent work from Trent Boult. He could have kept bowling but Phoenix have taken the decision to switch it up.

  5. Invincibles 0-1published at 5 balls

As we saw from Sonny Baker last night, the first five balls do not cost a run. Top stuff.

Another big name playing today is Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan - the most sought after spinner in the world.

"It is a great feeling, for people to be calling you [the best spinner in the world]," he told BBC Two.

"The cricket remains the same. The rest of the thigs take care of themselves. More important is to get ready for the game. It is a challenge but at the same time I enjoy that."

And encouragingly for fans of Test cricket, Rashid says he wants to play more Test cricket for his country.

"Hopefully I get that opportunity where I can play Test cricket more," he said.

Jacob Bethell has scored one and five in his two innings in this year's Hundred. That comes after his disappointing return in the fifth Test against India.

He could do with runs today.

  13. 'Bethell needs to play'published at 18:20 British Summer Time 12 August

    Sir Alastair Cook
    Ex-England captain on BBC Two

Jacob Bethell is an extremely talented young player who hasn't played much cricket. he is one of those modern 360 players. There has been a lot of talk about him and the Test team. He just needs to play and he will thrive.

He is not in my starting line-up (for the Ashes). He has faced 60 balls with the red ball this year. A am old-school. You learn in the middle. We will see him today in his preferred environment.
