It was a tough one, Arundhati Reddy swung hard but it was a thick edge. It will go down as a dropped catch for Amy Jones.

  2. dropped catch

Reddy dropped on 11published at 23.4 overs

A little harsh to call this drop.

Arundhati Reddy swishes at one from Sophie Ecclestone and edges it.

Amy Jones gets a bit of glove on it but cannot hang on.

  3. Ind 120-6published at 23.4 overs

Arundhati Reddy is on the move and neatly chips Sophie Ecclestone into the leg side, but it thuds into the turf with the field set back.

Reddy's intent is positive and gives it a heart biff down the ground for four.

I don't understand why England drop so many catches. I'm in the crowd at Lord's and the number of unforced errors they have made in this innings is highly frustrating (and would be for a club team). India could be seven or eight down by now. Why isn't England's fielding noticeably improving week on week, month on month, series on series?

Lauren Bell delivers on her captain's instructions and keeps it tight.

    India's run rate is 4.87.

It's an interesting little game. Clearly England are ahead in terms of runs.

One thing I think Deepti Sharma has got so well is that flat hard sweep.

Not so many people are playing it so well and Sharma is executing it well.

Lauren Bell is back as Nat Sciver-Brunt decides pace is the way to go at the moment.

A wide and two dots to start.

Six overs per bowler, of course. Bell is into her fifth.

Sophie Ecclestone has bowled 50% of her deliveries in the 4-5 metre range today, around 10% higher than in Southampton where she often overpitched into the 3-4 metre region.

The 4-5m range is where Ecclestone's numbers are best in ODIs, both her average (10.20) and economy (3.07) are at their lowest when bowling there in the last few years.

  9. Ind 108-6published at 22 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt shuffles her pack and summons Sophie Ecclestone.

The England left-arm spinner sees her first ball disappear to the boundary off the bat of Deepti Sharma.

Ecclestone manages to tighten it up in the remainder of the over.

A wicket for England, but their most expensive over in the match so far with 13 from it.

You could see India starting to put their foot on the gas.

Linsey Smith has her revenge and it was a good catch by Charlie Dean.

Smriti Mandhana punches her bat in frustration.

Smriti Mandhana with a crisply-timed sweep for four...but she's on her way back to the pavilon next ball after she skies one off the bowling of Linsey Smith.

Mandhana skips down the pitch but cannot quite time it right and Charlie Dean takes an awkward catch over her shoulder.

  14. Ind 93-5published at 20.1 overs

Deepti Sharma plants her front foot and whips Charlie Dean towards cow corner for four. A hefty chunk of bat behind that one.

  15. Ind 89-5published at 20 overs

Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma playing tip and run off the bowling off Charlie Dean at the moment, much to the chagrin of England's fielders who cannot quite get there quickly enough to their pokes and dabs.

Nine overs to go. India are going to throw a bit of caution to the wind.

    England are well on top.

Smriti Mandhana looks like she's constantly in a stick or twist situation. When does she start taking those risks?

It is tricky when you lose wickets in clusters. You would think these two are the last pair of proper recognised batters.

  17. Ind 86-5published at 19 overs

Deepti Sharma sweeps Linsey Smith fine, but can only pick up a single.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has her fielders stationed in all the right positions at the moment.

Here's that smart caught-and-bowled wicket from Charlie Dean from a little earlier.

  19. Ind 82-5published at 18 overs

Plenty of turn from Charlie Dean as she twice fizzes one past the outside edge of the left-handed Deepti Sharma's defensive prods.

Smriti Mandhana latches on to a short wide one from Dean of the penultimate ball of the over and waspishly cuts it for four through point.

  20. Ind 76-5published at 17 overs

Linsey Smith chews gum with a pensive look on her face between deliveries.

Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma content to knock the ball into gaps. Four singles off the over.

Charlie Dean set to bowl the next over, it seems, having switched ends.
