The ball dipped before turning away from the England captain as he overbalanced.

Crucially, though, he kept his back foot down as Nicholas Pooran whipped off the bails.

More left-arm spin for England to deal with now, albeit a very different variation of it, as Gudakesh Motie comes into the attack.

It's a similarly watchful approach from the England openers early in the spinner's spell, though.

You just sense that Phil Salt was ready to start playing his shots as soon as the left-arm spin was taken out.

One of Phil Salt's strengths is that he plays like everyone thinks he's rubbish. A nice shot, Salt just waited for that one nicely. One of his strengths is that he thinks he should be smacking everyone for four or six and it is quite intimidating to bowl at.

A tad too short from Akeal Hosein and Phil Salt rocks back and crashes the ball through the covers.
