A nice and controlled shot. Moeen Ali has clearly been put in to go at Motie. He's not been aggressive, he's just timed that wonderfully.

Super shot from Moeen Ali as he sweeps Gudakesh Motie powerfully through square leg for four.

Rovman Powell is looking a lot happier than he did six or seven balls ago when England looked to be cantering at the rate. Now, a couple of good overs and a wicket have changed that.

Very good over from Roston Chase with just three from it and the big wicket of Jos Buttler.

Moeen Ali is in at three for England. He is always a threat against spin, plus the left-hand/ right-hand combination will appeal to the batting side.

Nicholas Pooran was screaming into the stump mic, imploring the umpire to give that out.

Three reds and Jos Buttler is gone!

The England skipper got himself in a tangle as he advanced and ended up hitting his pad.

It was pretty adjacent from there and going on to hit middle and leg about halfway up.

The interesting thing here will be whether it has strayed down the leg side.

Has Roston Chase made the breakthrough?

The umpire raises his finger as Jos Buttler is hit on the shin after skipping down the pitch to the off-spinner.

    Buttler sends it upstairs.

Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali are padded up. Who comes in will probably depend on if the spinners are on. If they are, England will throw Moeen into the mix.

England like bowling first, like being able to control the game, they are able to pace their innings and control it more.

Jos Buttler misses out on a short, wide delivery from Gudakesh Motie fifth ball and is then beaten by a beauty to end the over.

The ball dipped before turning away from the England captain as he overbalanced.

Crucially, though, he kept his back foot down as Nicholas Pooran whipped off the bails.

  12. Eng 61-0published at 6.2 overs

    Target 181

More left-arm spin for England to deal with now, albeit a very different variation of it, as Gudakesh Motie comes into the attack.

It's a similarly watchful approach from the England openers early in the spinner's spell, though.

You just sense that Phil Salt was ready to start playing his shots as soon as the left-arm spin was taken out.

Rovman Powell is giving a passionate speech here to his team while England take a quick drink.

After six overs, England are well and truly in control here.

Jos Buttler was beating his bat in approval at that six from Phil Salt.

Phil Salt ends the powerplay in style.

A bouncer is banged in by Alzarri Joseph and Phil Salt hooks it over fine leg for six!

So far, so good for England but there is a long way to go.

  17. Eng 48-0published at 5.1 overs

    Whipped over mid-wicket for four.

Phil Salt starts the final over of the powerplay with a boundary.

  18. Eng 44-0published at 5 overs

Akeal Hosein has bowled three of his four overs already and has been economical so far.

West Indies will be pleased with that, England will be satisfied that they haven't allowed him to do any damage in terms of wickets.

One of Phil Salt's strengths is that he plays like everyone thinks he's rubbish. A nice shot, Salt just waited for that one nicely. One of his strengths is that he thinks he should be smacking everyone for four or six and it is quite intimidating to bowl at.

  20. Eng 41-0published at 4.3 overs

    Target 181

A tad too short from Akeal Hosein and Phil Salt rocks back and crashes the ball through the covers.

Four more to the England total and a first boundary off the left-arm spinner.
