  1. Ind 34-1published at 4.3 overs

This, by the way, was the Salt 'drop' of Rohit.

Tough to call it a chance?

  2. Ind 34-1published at 4.2 overs

Poor ball. Topley, round the wicket, is too short. Rohit pulls for four.

There were three twos in that last over. That's going to be hugely important on this pitch.

The way India are going about it suggests that they think the pitch is only going to get slower and lower.

England have got to be on their guard. 150 will be challenging on this.

  5. Ind 30-1published at 4.1 overs

Topley is having a third over. Rashid mis-fields at short fine to give Pant a single.

England will be happy at the moment. They are keeping a lid on things.

  7. Ind 29-1published at 4 overs

Up and over from Rohit. Not timed. It drops beyond the covers for a couple. It's an arm-wrestle.

Rohit Sharma has got beautiful wrists. He makes batting look so easy, so much power but also so elegant.

  9. Ind 26-1published at 3.4 overs

Rohit is working it around. A guide to third man, a leading edge over mid-off, a clip to deep square. No boundaries, but five added so far in the over.

  10. Ind 23-1published at 3.2 overs

A player the class of Rohit Sharma trying to combat Jofra Archer on a pitch with variable bounce is absolutely compelling viewing.

I never met Meat Loaf unfortunately. He wasn’t exactly a regular at Victoria Park

  12. Ind 21-1published at 3 overs

Rishabh Pant is the new man. I'm already wondering how many might be a decent score.

Strange to think Reece Topley wasn't in England's team at the start of the tournament.

A huge wicket for England. It was a bit of a hack from Kohli, I don't think he needed to play that shot having hit the six two balls before.

Topley wins the battle. Virat Kohli was moving around quite a lot, which can be off-putting for a bowler but Topley holds his nerve, waiting until the last second for Virat to make his move and then he can adjust his line.

Another premeditated shot from Kohli. But this time Reece Topley gets his length right so he couldn't play through the line like the previous six.

    Kohli b Topley 9 (Ind 19-1)

    Bowled him!

Reece Topley wins the battle of the RCB team-mates. Virat Kohli is moving around, takes a wild slash at the ball and loses his leg stump.

Kohli's poor tournament continues. Will he get the chance to bat again?

Just an effortless flick off the wrists from Kohli. There is no swing and it is keeping low.

Now that is a shot of authority.

  19. 6 runs

    Ind 17-0published at 2.2 overs

First shot of class! Virat Kohli eases over the leg-side boundary for a maximum.

I'm not sure it's a chance, more that it's almost decapitated Phil Salt at point.

You catch one in a thousand of those.
