    Ind 11-0

    Hasn't seen it!

Phil Salt at point. Rohit Sharma times the cut straight at Salt, who almost ducks out of the way because he hasn't picked it up. Through the hands and away for four.

Bowling first and chasing suits England and how they like to play. There was not a lot of swing in Topley's first over.

For me, it'll be all about how England play India's world-class spin attack when it comes to the chase.

  3. Ind 7-0published at 1.5 overs

Another shooter. Might have been an off-cutter.

  4. Ind 7-0published at 1.4 overs

Great start from Archer. He's found the length right away. Just back of good.

That's just completely died in the surface. What did I say about the good bounce?

  6. Ind 6-0published at 1.1 over

Jofra. That's kept low. Not a great sign for the side batting second.

  7. Ind 6-0published at 1 over

    Absolutely brilliant.

Welcome, Stuart. Did you ever meet Meat Loaf?

Virat Kohli has not been at his best and that is very unusual for him. He doesn't have many dry spells in World Cups but you just know he'll be itching for his best against England on the big occasion.

  10. Ind 6-0published at 1 over

Is it swinging? Not sure. It's humid, so we'd expect some movement.

There is decent bounce there for Topley which is quite surprising, we thought it would be a slow and stoppy surface.

Rohit Sharma went absolutely off the dial the other day. He went ballistic against Mitchell Starc - could fellow left-armer Reece Topley be in for the same treatment here?

  13. Ind 4-0published at 0.2 overs

Could have gone anywhere! Leading edge from Rohit, past short third for four.

  14. Ind 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Ooofff! Play and miss first ball.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in the middle, in their Indian blue. Reece Topley has the ball.

Rohit Sharma is the one here. It goes without saying that England need to get him early, not that the rest of the line-up isn't dangerous either!

But he's been in such good form so if England can get the captain early, send a few nerves through the dugout then they will be in a good position.

It's glorious now. Sun out, outfield emerald green and the sky blue. The anthems have been sung, huge flags have been unfurled. Hopefully we have no other delays.

Just to confirm for David earlier, I thought that too about Meat Loaf being Pugsley. You are not alone.

It's 50/50 for me. India are unbeaten, they're in form and they're the favourites in most games they play.

But England have the mental advantage of recent form in World Cups, of that 2022 semi-final in Adelaide.

England know how good India's bowling line-up is, but they've got the advantage of bowling first and that's the incentive of keeping them to a low total.

That also gives them a chance to assess the pitch and the conditions.

It's going to be fascinating, two fantastic sides packed with so much talent with bat and ball. I have India as slight favourites.
