Our final entry for this round of County Championship games could only be about one man - and he didn't even finish on the winning side.

Leicestershire's Louis Kimber may never experience a day like it again after hitting 21 sixes in his 243 off 127 balls against Sussex - only for his side to lose by 18 runs, chasing 464.

Elsewhere, Division One leaders Surrey overcame determined resistance from Worcestershire and there were also wins for Lancashire and Middlesex, with the other four games drawn.

Thanks for your company over the past four days. We'll be back again on Sunday to start a new round of matches, featuring the Surrey v Essex showdown.

  3. How things stand - Division Onepublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 26 June

Surrey were two points ahead of Essex at the start of round nine - and they now have a 12-point advantage to take into the meeting of the top two at The Oval on Sunday.

Rory Burns' side beat Worcestershire by an innings at New Road, while Essex had to settle for a draw against Durham, who had led by 248 on first innings.

Somerset are third on 114 points, 23 adrift of Surrey, following their draw at Trent Bridge against Notts.

Kent remain bottom of the table with 62 points after losing by an innings to Lancashire, 10 behind Worcestershire, who are ninth.

  4. WARWICKSHIRE DRAW WITH HAMPSHIREpublished at 18:58 British Summer Time 26 June

    Warwickshire 254 & 321-9 v Hampshire 298 & 453-6 dec

Felix Organ will bowl to Sam Hain.

Eight close catchers plus the keeper.

They're so close they could almost touch the bat.

The first ball is driven through the off side. It won't make the rope and Hain is not going to run. Dot ball.

    Back and across to defend.

If Organ can find the rough anything might happen.

He's done it! Played into the ground on to the back foot.

Sam Hain has battled through scoreboard pressure, a sore hand and most likely cramp to save Warwickshire after a dramatic final burst that saw the Bears slide from 306-6 to 313-9.

James Fuller bowled with real fire to finish on 3-55.

Hain ends on a heroic 111 not out in 253 balls of resistance.

Both teams get 12 points but Hampshire had the better of much of the game.

Two overs left. We're past the last hour so that is your lot here.

Sam Hain crouches down after defending. Cramp and n injured hand, perhaps?

Good bowling, making him play every ball to defend. Will he try to pinch a single here? Two balls left in the over.

There it is, full outside off and driven through cover for one.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby has to see out one ball in the over.

    Four slips in...

Hit on the pad. Huge appeal... Not out.

A bit of movement in and he's barely forward but it might just have missed leg. Very close.

Bowling change. Kyle Abbott is coming on.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby defends a length ball into the on side.

A fuller ball is blocked out into cover point.

When is the short ball coming?

Not yet. He's bowling outside off stump and OHD leaves.

He blocks a straight one down the pitch and there's the bouncer, just outside off and OHD sways inside the line.

Sam Hain's hand is being taped up by the physio and he'll bat on.

He has to. Tough, tough game.

James Fuller is really firing on this docile pitch.

There's the bouncer but it's very short and Hain easily ducks. No ball!

The next one almost cuts him in half as he takes his hand off the bat and the ball loops to gully via only the pad.

Another bouncer is ducked underneath and somehow Hain has survived.

Four slips in for James Fuller, bowling to Sam Hain.

Four overs for the Bears to survive.

Sam Hain defends, dropping the ball safely away from silly mid off.

He's struck on the glove by a short ball.

It hasn't carried but he's clearly in pain as he peels off the glove.

    He's called for the physio.

Still three balls left in this over and three overs after that.

Six fielders round the bat as Felix Organ bowls to Sam Hain, who drives serenely through extra cover on the front foot for four.

Now then... The next ball is a bit leg side and whipped away for one.

Four balls to bowl in theory at least to the number 11.

Seven close catchers round the bat plus the keeper.

Organ fires a quicker one down the leg side and that's a great stop by keeper Ben Brown.

    Oliver Hannon-Dalby survives the over.

    Oliver Hannon-Dalby is in.

  13. How things stand - Division Twopublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 26 June

Following today's wins by Sussex and Middlesex, they are setting the pace in the Division Two race.

Sussex have 132 points from eight games, with four wins, eight more than Middlesex, who beat Derbyshire at Lord's.

They have a 25-point advantage over Yorkshire, who wrapped up victory over Gloucestershire, their first of the season, with a day to spare at Scarborough.

Glamorgan climb to fourth on 97 points after hanging on for a final-over draw with Northants, their sixth in eight games.

Is he out? Huge appeal for catch at slip and the umpire says not out.

Nasty bumper from James Fuller and the ball pings off the helmet as Craig Miles tries to evade it.

    Nasty. Straight, short and fast.

Sam Hain is forward and across to the spin of Felix Organ, dropping the ball safely into the on side.

James Fuller moves to point, saving one.

There's no single off the last ball as Hain is rapped on the pad outside off and the focus goes back to Craig Miles at the other end.

  16. GLAMORGAN DRAW WITH NORTHAMPTONSHIREpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 26 June

    Glamorgan 490 & 207-8 v Northants 279 & 472-8 dec

Tim van der Gugten safely sees out the final over from Liam Patterson-White and Glamorgan survive for a draw.

What a final session that ended up being.

Lewis McManus struck a career-best 168 to set up a declaration.

Glamorgan needed 262 in 39 overs and were on course with Marnus Labuschagne's 64.

But Northants chipped away with their spinners and in the end it was the visitors pressing for victory in Cardiff.

But having been four down in their second innings and level on the scoreboard, Northants will be very pleased with a draw.

Craig Miles rides the bounce and runs the ball down to third man.

No attempt is made to retrieve the ball so that will be four.

The next ball is on length and Miles defends down the pitch.

He's beaten outside off by the fourth ball, which straightens a tad.

He's right behind the fifth to block and misses a drive on the back foot as the ball shapes away to end a pulsating over.

  18. Postpublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 26 June

Six around the bat plus the keeper.

Sam Hain is forward to Felix organ, playing the all nit the ground.

He plays across the line defending and a huge LBW shout is turned down.

Big turn outside the rough but he's hit outside the line of off stump.

Maiden over. It's time for Craig Miles to take on some more pressure.
