  2. wicket

Mills run out S Curran 4 (Brave 133 all out)

Craig Overton tries to get himself on strike by running a bye... he makes his ground but Tymal Mills cannot get to the non-striker's in time.

He is run out Southern Brave dismissed for 133.

  3. Brave 133-9published at 97 balls

This is another hat-trick ball. We've already had two of them today...

It's a good 'un from Curran but Tymal Mills edges it for four!

Jofra Archer has got a big smile on his face. He was just trying to see how quick or slow that delivery was and he hit it towards the longer side of the ground, but you need to put in a lot of effort to even clear the boundary.

Unfortunately, he didn't manage to do that.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 96 balls

    Archer c Ferreira b S Curran 5 (Brave 129-9)

The moon ball gets the wicket! Jofra Archer waits and waits for the slower ball to come but can only hit it to deep mid-wicket.

A very good shot from Jofra Archer! That was intentional. He just sliced it over short third.

They need another 11 runs off the last 5 balls here.

  7. Brave 129-8published at 95 balls

Sam Billings was warned this was coming. The Invincibles skipper does indeed miss the cut off to bowl his deliveries, has to bring third man up and then Jofra Archer slices a four in that exact area.

That's exactly what we were talking about earlier! The field is set up nicely for those wide yorkers and Hilton Cartwright had gone across this one.

It was a nicely bowled, straight and full yorker. Sam Curran dismisses him and that knocks off at least 15 runs from their innings now.

  9. Brave 122-8published at 91 balls

Jofra Archer has emerged to try and bash some sixes but he's not on strike at the moment.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 90 balls

    Cartwright b S Curran 42 (Brave 120-8)

Right on cue. Sam Curran bowls the perfect yorker which is speared between Hilton Cartwright's legs and his leg stump.

Cartwright has given his side an outside chance, however.

  11. Brave 120-7published at 19:42 British Summer Time

I know he's been given plenty of chances, I know he looks better when out of the side, but surely Sam Curran was unfortunate not to make the England squad for next month's matches? He's not even in for the Ireland series when the Test players are resting.

I really don't mind a wide ball at this stage because that's what the bowler is trying to do. Sam Curran has got the fine leg and square leg inside the circle, so he is bowling that line outside off stump. In that bargain, if you give away a wide or two then that's fine.

  13. Brave 116-7published at 85 balls

Tom Curran responds well to hand over to his brother with a bit of momentum halted.

There's no way those pictures conclusively showed that the ball hadn't hit the ground to get Roy caught out, especially the angle that showed the ball rising before bouncing off the boot. With a not-out decision on the field, the third umpire has had a shocker there.

  15. Brave 111-7published at 81 balls

Hilton Cartwright slices one straight now and gets four despite not middling it.

We might have a game on, you know.

If this partnership goes on for another 10 deliveries, we're probably looking at a 135 or 140 run total. They will definitely have something on the board and they have a decent bowling line-up, but they will need at least 130-140 runs for me.

  17. Brave 107-7published at 80 balls

    Cartwright 32, C Overton 3

A couple of wides from Sowter help the Brave's cause further and their supporters have been energised just a little. It's not as quiet as it was.

Invincibles are worried they're behind the time limit.

But now Rashid Khan is finished, Hilton Cartwright is going to take advantage!

A massive six off Nathan Sowter.

  19. Brave 94-7published at 75 balls

    Cartwright 21, Overton 3

What has Hilton Cartwright done to upset Rashid Khan? The spinner is having another pop after a play and miss.

"You're pretty good," says the Australian. Quite.

118-8 is Southern Brave's lowest men's Hundred score, coming against the Invincibles at The Oval in 2024.
