  1. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 12:55 British Summer Time

    Kent 393 v Gloucestershire 472

A early lunch at the Spitfire Ground as Graeme van Buuren brings Kent's first innings to an end by pinning Nathan Gilchrist on the back foot and winning an lbw decision.

Kent added 75 for the loss of their final three wickets, including opener Compton, who went in van Buuren's previous over for 178.

They trail by 79 on first innings and will hope to make early inroads into Gloucestershire's top order when the action resumes.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time

    Rhodes lbw b Sears 13 (Durham 364-6 v Yorks 307)

Make that right back in it.

George Hill's peach of a delivery the previous over removed Emilio Gay and now Ben Sears has added another snagging Ollie Robinson in front six balls later.

That hit him high on the back leg but probably close enough to the stumps to be given.

  3. 300 up for Hampshirepublished at 12:53 British Summer Time

    Somerset 184 v Hants 301-8

The Hampshire tail does indeed wag!

Since the eighth wicket has gone down, Hampshire have pressed the accelerator pedal again.

Three fours from Kyle Abbott off Craig Overton sees the hosts bring the 300 up and they are now 117 runs clear of Somerset if my maths is correct.

  4. 'Not impossible but unlikely'published at 12:52 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 317 v Worcs 202

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Worcestershire will need 295 to win and one would have to say on the evidence what we've seen so far, that is a very tall order indeed, not impossible but unlikely.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time

    Procter c Andersson b Tickner 150 (Derbys 307 v Northants 345-5)

Luke Procter cuts a wide delivery from Blair Tickner but doesn't find the gap and Martin Andersson takes the catch at gully.

Procter departs after hitting 20 fours in an excellent 272-ball innings, with his side 38 in front.

Lewis McManus is the new batter.

  6. Postpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 93 v Notts 275-6

Haseeb Hameed goes down the track and smashes a short ball from Vishwa Fernando for four.

Absolutely imperious from Hameed who moves on to 111 not out.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time

    Gay b Hill 152 (Durham 362-5 v Yorks 307

Beauty from George Hill brings to an end a fine innings from Emilio Gay.

Yorkshire had started to build a bit of pressure on the set Durham batsman whose runs had dried to a trickle despite him passing 150.

Hill fires one in that starts on middle and leg but leaves Gay off the pitch. He is squared up and misses, with the ball clipping to the top of off.

Perfect delivery and Yorkshire are clawing their way back into this game.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time

    Snater b Allison 48 (Essex 179 & 317 v Worcs 202)

Worcestershire will need to score 295 for victory at Chelmsford.

Essex's second innings comes to an end as Shane Snater tries to swing a ball from Ben Allison to leg and is bowled.

The home side added 84 to their overnight 233-6 and this chase looks like being a tough one for the Pears.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time

    Albert lbw Pretorius 3 (Somerset 184 v Hants 286-8)

It's another for Migael Pretorius as he traps Toby Albert plumb in front of his pads for 3. Pretorius now boasts impressive figures of 4-49.

Conversely, it's been a bit of a collapse from the hosts who started the day 194-3.

    Will the tail wag?

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time

    Compton st Bracey b van Buuren 178 (Kent 391-9 v Glos 472)

Ben Compton carried his bat through an entire innings for Kent in 2022, but he's not going to do it again today.

Graeme van Buuren lures him down the pitch with a flighted delivery and it's an easy stumping for James Bracey as the opener fails to lay a bat on it.

Compton batted for 411 minutes, faced 298 balls and hit 19 fours.

  11. wicket

MIDDLESEX 470-9 DECLAREDpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time

    Middx 470-9d (lead by 271 runs) v Glamorgan 199

Toby Roland-Jones has decided to call time on Middlesex's first innings and have a 10 minute crack at Glamorgan before lunch.

Both sides can feel happy with their morning's work with Glamorgan taking five wickets for 117 and Middx hammering their foot to the floor to race to a 271 lead.

  12. 'Taylor may be keeping Worcestershire hopes alive'published at 12:42 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 311-9 v Worcs 202

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Hereford & Worcestershire

Tom Taylor has done a really good job for Worcestershire, taking a couple of wickets this morning and may be just keeping hopes alive at the moment.

  13. 100 runs

100 for Hameedpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 93 v Notts 266-6

Haseeb Hameed raises his bat towards the pavillion as he celebrates a very well earned century!

It's not the most convincing shot of his terrific innings as he edges a good delivery for four but he won't care about that.

It's the opener's 16th first-class century of his career and his 10th for Nottinghamshire.

  14. 150 runs

for Luke Procterpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time

    Derbys 307 v Northants 331-4

Zak Chappell is short of a length and Luke Procter rocks back and flays it over mid-wicket for four. lt's his 20th boundary and carries him to 150 from 271 balls.

  15. 50 runs

50 partnership for Kentpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time

    Kent 385-8 v Glos 472

Ben Compton turns Ben Charlesworth away for a single and that is a 50 partnership for the ninth wicket for Kashif Ali. It has taken 110 balls and Compton is now 172 not out.

  16. 'Rajitha was hanging in without looking too convincing'published at 12:38 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 311-9 v Worcs 202

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

I was saying that Kasun Rajitha was hanging in without looking too convincing and he still wasn't looking too convincing there. It looked a very good shot but the only problem is he didn't hit it.

He was trying to whip it away and missed it.

  17. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time

    Essex 179 & 311-9 v Worcs 202

Jacob Duffy tests out Shane Snater with a bouncer and is pulled over square leg for six.

The next one is also short but Snater makes no contact as he tries to lift it over the wicketkeeper's head.

  18. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 167-1 (trail by 268 runs)

There does not look a whole load of anything in this pitch for Sussex's bowlers although the middle of the track does seem to be a bit firmer than the ends.

Surrey's Dan Worrall had some joy with short-pitched stuff towards the end of day two and the odd one fired in short is catching everyone by surprise.

But Dom Sibley (63) and Ollie Pope (66) are making batting look easy and will both be eyeing big scores here as the win for either side slips further and further from view.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time

    Fuller c Overton b Pretorious 15 (Somerset 184 v Hants 280-7)

A fourth wicket of the morning session goes down in Southampton!

A full ball from Migael Pretorius is tentatively driven at by James Fuller and goes straight to Jamie Overton at second slip who catches comfortably.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time

    Rajitha lbw Taylor 3 (Essex 179 & 303-9 v Worcs 202)

Kasun Rajitha doesn't have the greatest batting pedigree and he plays all around a straight one from Tom Taylor and is leg-before.

Number 11 Jamie Porter comes out for Essex, who are 280 in front. Taylor now has figures of 3-73 from 22 overs.
