    Wyatt-Hodge c Litchfield b King 22 (Eng 127-5)

Danni Wyatt-Hodge trudges off staring vacantly into the ground.

The England batter drilled a very tough chance at Phoebe Litchfield earlier in the over off Alana King which would have catch of the century, but this is still a smart piece of close fielding.

Wyatt-Hodge pokes one against the spin of King and Litchfield dives across the pitch to snaffle the pink ball into her hands.

  2. Eng 127-4published at 48.3 overs

After a bit of a stodgy start Danni Wyatt-Hodge is showing some aggression.

She lap sweeps Alana King for a couple before a big lbw appeal later in the over.

Well we've just had the white ball sections of this series and it looks like Danni Wyatt-Hodge is trying to carry it on.

  4. Eng 125-4published at 48 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge with a show of intent, skipping down the pitch and hammering Ash Gardner down the ground for four.

Meanwhile we're being told by Cricket Australia that Ellyse Perry landed awkwardly on her hip while diving in the field and will continue to be assessed. She’s not expected to come back on the field this session.

If you watched it live it looked out, when you slow it down it's questionable. That's one that you can look at 1000 times and have 1000 different answers.

  6. Sciver-Brunt survivespublished at 47 overs

    Huge let-off for England.

The third umpire decides the ball has touched the ground and it's not a clean catch.

    Nat Sciver-Brunt survives.

    She doesn't look very confident.

Alyssa Healy is bending down to scoop the ball up. The ball looks to be kissing the turf.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is walking off but they'll definitely have to check it.

  10. Umpire reviewpublished at 47 overs

Now then, Nat Sciver-Brunt has edged a delivery from Alana King into the hands of Alyssa Healey at first slip. Australia celebrate, but their captain does not look convinced.

    Has this carried?

  11. Eng 120-4published at 46.4 overs

Very nicely played by Nat Sciver-Brunt.

Alana King drifts down the leg side and the England batter emphatically sweeps it for four.

Sciver-Brunt is given a quick reminder of the challenge in hand next ball, though, as King spins one past a defensive prod.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge got away with that one. She wasn't in total control of that shot.

  13. Eng 116-4published at 46 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge batting in a cable-knit jumper despite blazing skies at the MCG. You love to see it.

Given the infrequency of Test cricket in the women's game she probably only gets few opportunities to wear it every year.

Ash Gardner drops it a little short, the ball stays a tad low, and Wyatt-Hodge does well to adjust her shot and whip it behind square for four.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has played with better intent and looked far more secure after the tea break with 38% attacking shots and only 5% false shots. In the first session, she played 25% attacking shots and was troubled more often by the Australian bowlers with 17% false shots.

This is an important partnership for England.

  16. Eng 112-4published at 45 overs

A little lap sweep from Danni Wyatt-Hodge brings her a couple of runs off Alana King's second delivery before she nearly chips one back to the Aussie leggie.

King still looks Australia's most likely source of a wicket here.

  17. Eng 108-4published at 44 overs

That Australia left it so late to ask for the review shows there must have been quite a bit of doubt. Anyway, back to Alana King.
