Thanks, Tim. No cornflakes today so I treated myself to a bacon sandwich, not too many claims of health benefits where they're concerned...

Alana King is ready to bowl the first over of the night session, it'll be the 17th over of her spell.

How long before we see Nat Sciver-Brunt move into white-ball mode?

Right, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Ryana MacDonald-Gay are back out in the middle along with Australia's fielders. Can England eke themselves towards 200 here?

I'm off for some breakfast. Sam Drury has already had his cornflakes and is full of riboflavin and whatever other health benefits they pertain have on the sides of the packets.

He will talk you through the night session.

I hope that two positives come out of this shambolic tour. 1: England accept they are way below the standards of Australia and work on getting back to where they belong. 2: Alex Hartley receives an apology from some of her former team mates for her perfectly honest criticism of the team. We're in elite sport and it's clear to see that some players need to accept their performances have just not been good enough.

England have struggled to play spin over the past 18 months and that's been exacerbated against Australia's brilliant spin attack. England have not had an answer to it

There's been a lot of good bowling from Australia, but some very soft dismissals for England.

If Australia had batted first, they would've wanted to get well over 300.

If you're just joining us over your breakfast... it's a familiar tale of Women's Ashes woe for England.

Australia won the toss and put England in and the home side's seamers did the damage early on, with England captain Heather Knight one of two of Kim Garth's victims at the top of the order.

Since then it's been an examination by spin for England and they have largely struggled against Alana King and Ash Gardner.

Apart from Nat Sciver-Brunt, who has batted doggedly for England, and is a beacon of hope for the tourists with an unbeaten half-century.

I think it's been a terrific innings from Nat Sciver-Brunt, she's been disciplined. It's been hard because she's had no real support but it's been an innings of maturity so far.

It's important to think about scoring and rotating the strike, especially because Alana King is bowling so well.

England need to start looking for runs, make some calculated risks.

Alana King continues to tease and tempt with her lengths to the batters.

Nat Sciver-Brunt picks up a single off the Australia leg-spinner leaving Ryana MacDonald-Gay, who has a very organised defensive game, to see off the remainder of the over.
