    Beaumont b Wareham 54 (Eng 118-3)

Georgia Wareham into the attack, and she takes the wicket of Tammy Beaumont with her third ball!

The Aussie leg-spinner finds some drift and Beaumont ends up overbalancing as she comes forward trying to work it into the leg side and the ball slides through to hit her leg stump.

We saw in the first innings that once you settle in, the scoring gets easier.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has 43 off 48 balls and will be eyeing a half-century of her own.

England need 191 runs from 156 balls to pull off a remarkable victory at the Bellerive Oval.

I really like this partnership of Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt. They've built a platform and are slowly chipping away at the deficit.

Fifty for Beaumontpublished at 23.2 overs

A jab down through the vacant gully region off Annabel Sutherland brings up Tammy Beaumont's half-century off 70 balls. A gritty knock.

  6. Eng 112-2published at 23 overs

Tammy Beaumont's cheeks have a pinkish tint to them as she bats in the Hobart sunshine.

She's not getting hot under the collar against Alana King, though.

The England opener sweeps King's leggies for consecutive fours behind square and only a brilliant bit of fielding from Ellyse Perry on the rope denies her a third boundary.

  8. Eng 101-2published at 22 overs

A return to seam, in the form of Annabel Sutherland, and welcome a boundary for England of her second ball.

Sutherland drifts on to the legs of Nat Sciver-Brunt who clinically whips it behind square for four. Ruthless from the England batter.

England coach Jon Lewis, speaking on TNT Sports: "Seven an over from here, we will obviously have to play really well but these two are building a really good partnership together.

"We don't really set targets. We will put trust in players in the middle to make good cricket decisions. They will communicate how they want to do it together.

"We felt like it is a gettable total but it just got away from us at the end of our bowling innings.

"At all times we want to put the bowlers under pressure. In women's cricket with the fielding restrictions there is always an option to take on the fielders in the circle."

I like this continuous rotation on strike.

  11. Eng 94-2published at 21 overs

Tammy Beaumont opts to sweep Alana King, but does not quite get the execution right and the ball ends up under the grille of her helmet.

Three singles of the over as England continue to keep the scoreboard ticking over. They're going to have to up the ante at some point.

    Target 309

It's been a while since a boundary - 35 balls, in fact - as Australia attempt to squeeze England with spin in these middle overs.

Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt have managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over, though. More useful farming of the strike off Ash Gardner.

This is a really good effort from Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt. They've laid the foundation but they need to keep going.

  14. Eng 85-2published at 19 overs

Another chance of a run out as Tammy Beaumont takes a risky single off Alana King which left Nat Sciver-Brunt struggling to make her ground. Phoebe Litchfield misses with her throw to the striker's end.

This partnership is now worth 56.

This is a critical partnership for England to stay in the game. It's always difficult when you're chasing, sometimes you get too caught up in the wickets. I like the way they're playing, they're rotating the strike, they're reading the game and I think that's been the difference here.

  16. Eng 78-2published at 18 overs

Ash Gardner rattles through another over of her off-spin but there's very little for Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt to work with. They settle for a single apiece.

That was awful. That was always going to be Ash Gardner's catch but she slowed down. I'm in shock.

    "Yours..."

    "No, yours".

Tammy Beaumont skies the ball square of the wicket off Alana King, but two players in canary yellow - Ash Gardner and Beth Mooney - both remain rooted to the spot.

The ball thuds into the turf to side glances all round. A catching chance goes begging for the Aussies.

It would be so good to see Nat Sciver-Brunt and Tammy Beaumont get 50 each. It will be good to get some confidence back into the England batting line-up.

Ash Gardner continues after the rehydration break.

Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt are running well between the wickets as they continue to milk singles off Gardner,

The final ball of the Aussie spinner's over draws Tammy Beaumont forward and beats the outside edge of the England opener's defensive press.

    Here comes Alana King.
