Nat Sciver-Brunt is the new batter for England, and she gets off the mark by confidently pulling Megan Schutt for four.

Huge wicket in the context of this game, England are going to have to have somebody go out there and score some runs. It was a slower ball, leg cutter from Megan Schutt and it grips into the surface just enough to draw Heather Knight forward.

    Knight c Healy b Schutt 14 (Eng 29-2)

    England's skipper trudges off.

It's a smart piece of bowling from Megan Schutt who flicks her wrist to land one on a length which Heather Knight simply has to play at.

The ball deviates sufficiently off the pitch to flick the edge of Knight's bat and Healy, stood up to the stumps, gleefully takes the catch.

I like that from Tammy Beaumont, she goes to meet the ball instead of sitting in the crease. Taking the game on, that's the bravery that we keep talking about.

Kim Garth, who made her ODI debut for Ireland aged 14 years and 70 days in July 2010, continues to keep it tight for Australia. She's not finding as much movement as the first two ODIs but is unerringly accurate.

Tammy Beaumont is shuffling in and out of the crease in an attempt to bring some vibrancy to England's approach.

Most Wickets in Overs 1-10 in ODIs since Megan Schutt's debut:

    • Marizanne Kapp - 65
    • Shabnim Ismail - 57
    • Megan Schutt - 52

I don't think England have done much wrong today but Australia have shown them how to bat on this surface. England are going to have to do outstandingly well, they. They'll need a few good partnerships, maybe a few centuries to win this game.

  9. Eng 27-1published at 5 overs

Encouraging intent from Heather Knight as she takes on a wide delivery from Megan Schutt, fizzing it through point for four. Later in the over she opens the face and squirts it behind square for a couple.

Alyssa Healy is still stood up to the stumps.

One thing Heather Knight does well is she always runs the first one hard, then looks to see where the ball is.

  11. Eng 19-1published at 4 overs

Kim Garth gives away a leg bye and wide but not much else in her second over. Heather Knight pinches the strike off the final ball of the over with a nudge into the leg side.

We talk about competing but I don't want to see England just competing today, I want to see them taking risks and being braver with the bat. The difference between Australia and England is the bravery. That's the way Australia play but we want to see more of that from England.

On the tube going to work in Bangkok. Looks like heads are down already. The last game sucked the life out of England. From a possible 2-2 to 6-0...

Tammy Beaumont chucks the kitchen sink at a wide-ish delivery from Megan Schutt and a thick edge flies through the large gap between first slip and gully. Schutt throws her head back in frustration.

Schutt fires one down the leg side next ball which races away for five wides. England will not mind that.

Heather Knight finishes the over with a stylish drive through the covers for four.

You just think that Heather Knight, with all her experience, will absorb the pressure.

  16. Eng 2-1published at 2 overs

Kim Garth, who had it on a string in the second ODI, is peppering a fourth-stump line. England captain Heather Knight, wisely in the circumstances, sees off a maiden.

Two overs in and you can already sense England under pressure.

England are going to need a good partnership here. The Australians showed England how they should bat on this surface.

Maia Bouchier just trying to go down the ground here. No pace on the ball, Talia McGrath gets herself into position pretty easily and it's taken. This isn't a great start.

    Bouchier c McGrath b Schutt 0 (Eng 1-1)

Oh dear. A disastrous start for England as Maia Bouchier is back in the hutch for a second-ball duck.

The England opener struggles, perhaps, adjusting to the pace of the pitch and ends up chipping Megan Schutt into the hands of Tahlia McGrath at mid-off.

Bouchier's feet looked to have got stuck on the crease a little with Alyssa Healy stood up.
