Summary

  1. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 v Surrey 287-9

Not a great ball from Kasey Aldridge, but it's a lovely shot from Tom Curran.

The England white-ball all-rounder times it beautifully and dissects the gap between deep cover and deep backward point for his third four. To go with his SIX sixes.

A single takes him to 57 off only 49 balls and cuts the gap to 30 runs.

    How's your luck?

  7. Later lunch at Worcesterpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 11 September

    Worcestershire 307, Warwickshire 128 & 48-1

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Worcester

Just a reminder that lunch is a little later today at !2:40 at Worcester, with 104 overs due to be squeezed in today following yesterday's dampness.

After all Worcestershire's early wicket-taking antics, things have settled down a bit.

Bears skipper Alex Davies has really got his head down. Just nine runs in 38 balls, while Will Rhodes is a little more fluent, having hit four fours so far in his 24 - the last of which went way too close to midwicket's hands for comfort.

At least their efforts have given the visitors a little more stomach to face their lunch.

  8. wicket

    Breaking

    Essex 457 v Notts 93

An absolute shocker of an innings from Notts ends with Rob Lord prodding Simon Harmer straight to Robin Das at short leg.

Ben Slater's 29 ends up being Notts' top score and one assumes the visitors will soon be batting again...

Harmer ends with 4-16 and Jamie Porter 5-35 - superb bowling from the Essex pair.

    No footwork there.

    Somerset 317 v Surrey 276-8

    Somerset celebrateImage source, Rex Features

It's worth remembering the calibre of batters that Archie Vaughan has removed this morning and yesterday.

The 18-year-old's six first-innings victims include England trio Rory Burns, Dom Sibley and Ben Foakes no less. No wonder his team-mates have been all over him.

    Dad will be proud.

Meanwhile, Somerset decide not to give Lewis Goldsworthy a second over after his first went for 18 runs.

The pace of Kasey Aldridge replaces him.

  11. Durham bat onpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 11 September

    Durham 486-4 v Lancs 228

David Bedingham sweeps Tom Hartley behind square for two.

    Kent 146-8 v Hampshire 403

Liam Dawson slow it down to squirrel a way between Charlie Stobo's bat and pad and knock back his stumps.

It might be about time for openers Ben Compton and Tawanda Muyeye to dig out their pads again.

Kent are 257 in arrears still and running out of batters

That begs the question, will Michael and Archie Vaughan become England's greatest father and son duo? The Broads, Stewarts, and Bairstows might have something to say about that, but what do you reckon?

    Sussex 491 v Glamorgan 186 & 8-1

Not the start Glammy were after.

Indian left-armer Jaydev Unadkat angles one across Asa Tribe.

The opener's eyes light up and he slashes at a ball he should have left, edging it through to wickie John Simpson.

Tribe picks up a pair and Colin Ingram is in early once again.

  16. Five-wicket haul for Porterpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 11 September

    Essex 457 v Notts 93-9

Can't keep up with it at Chelmsford!

Half joking a little while ago when we said Notts might not make it to lunch - but could turn out to be bang-on.

Lyndon James, Luke Fletcher and Liam Patterson-White all depart in the space of 11 Essex balls, all to Jamie Porter who has fantastic figures of 5-35. Just missed out on a hat-trick too.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Tom Curranpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 11 September

    Somerset 317 v Surrey 271-8

    Wow, wow, wow!

Lewis Goldsworthy comes into the attack for his first bowl and perhaps wishes he hadn't bothered.

Tom Curran welcomes him by smacking a knee-high full toss for a big six.

He then plonks his fourth ball for another six and two balls later, brings up a remarkable 33-ball half-century by smashing another monstrous blow into the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion.

It's just his sixth first-class fifty and is quickly changing the tone of this game.

    Another Michelle for Kyle Abbott.

No.26 in the County Championship, all for Hampshire, and third of the season.

Harry Finch chases a very wide one and it is simple for Ben Brown to get hold of with the gloves. 44 off 91 balls for the Kent batter.

Pressure is right back on Kent now.

  20. First batting point for Surreypublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 11 September

Tom Curran continues to take the attack to Somerset as he takes a third six off Archie Vaughan.

He then crashes a lovely cover drive off the spinner to move Surrey past 250 for a first batting point.

Curran skips along to 32 and the deficit is 64.
