  1. Postpublished at 12.2 overs

    Surrey 46-1 v Essex 217

Kurtis Patterson was so lucky a couple of overs ago when he tried to withdraw his bat to a delivery from Kasum Rajitha and an inside edge just missed the stumps before rolling away for four.

That's more like it as he tucks a ball from Shane Snater through square leg for another boundary.

  2. Second batting point for Derbyshirepublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 23 May

    Derbyshire 300-2 v Kent

Wayne Madsen is surprised by one from Jake Ball which appears to bounce more than he expected but a top edge flies over the slips for four and Derbyshire's total reaches 300.

They are Madsen's first runs of his innings - Caleb Jewell is now 126 not out at the other end.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hutton c Lyth b Hill 0 (Yorks v Notts 197-8)

That was like catching practice, Brett Hutton prodding uncertainly outside off stump and the chance flying straight to Adam Lyth at second slip.

  4. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 23 May

    Durham 277 v Somerset 8-0

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was not Somerset's best fielding performance today, though there were multiple pretty difficult chances.

  5. wicket

LANCS 206 ALL OUTpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 23 May

    Williams c Cox b Hull 2 (Leics v Lancs 206)

Angled towards his stumps and straightens slightly to take the edge and that is the end of Lancashire's innings.

From 74-0 the visitors will have been hoping for better but Leicestershire kept things very tight.

Partnerships were not forthcoming for Lancs who posted just two partnerships over 20 – for the first and fifth wickets.

  6. 100 runs

for Kiran Carlsonpublished at 77.2 overs

    Glamorgan 266-3 v Middlesex

    Kiran CarlsonImage source, Getty Images

Kiran Carlson tickles Zafar Gohar round the corner for one and there is his second hundred of the season - and 14th of his first-class career.

This one has taken him 138 balls, almost 90 fewer than partner Sam Northeast, but neither of them will be the least bit interested in that.

Their partnership is now worth 214.

  7. Keeping up with Surrey's overseas movementspublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 23 May

    Surrey 35-1 v Essex 217

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Kemar Roach was only here for four games, now it is Nathan Smith.

Kemar came back last summer at the back end of the season though so we will see in September.

I would not be surprised if we see him back here again soon, he is so popular here.

The Australia v Windies series starts soon.

Currently batting is Kurtis Patterson, the latest Test cricketer to also play for Surrey - I (Harry) enjoyed scoring his debut Test ton at Manuka v Sri Lanka a few years back.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 80.4 overs

Came run out 89 (Derbys 292-2 v Kent)

    What a shame.

Caleb Jewell drives straight back down the pitch, Jake Ball gets a fingertip to it and the ball deflects into the stumps at the bowler's end with Harry Came unable to get his bat back down in time.

His dismissal ends a superb stand of 196 with Jewell, the pair having come together when David Lloyd was out for 50 in the 26th over.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hain c Jones b Waite 86 (Worcestershire v Warwickshire 195-6)

    Worcestershire have the big one!

Sam Hain's looked soooo good today and seemed destined for a first red-ball hundred against the Pears but he's stopped 14 short by Matthew Waite.

It's a decent delivery - a touch of movement away off the seam - that Hain's followed and steered to Rob Jones at slip.

Hain immediately rehearses a shot with a much straighter bat as he reminds himself what he should've done.

Nevertheless it's been a super innings from Hain who's looked back nearer his best today.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 23 May

    Phillip c Cox b Hull 8 (Leics v Lancs 200-9)

A big swish of the bat and the tail-ender puts it straight up in the air, Ben Cox takes the catch.

  11. 100 runs

for Sam Northeastpublished at 74 overs

    Glamorgan 258-3 v Middlesex

    Sam NortheastImage source, Getty Images

Sam Northeast rocks onto the back foot and steers Zafar Gohar into the covers for a single and reaches his first hundred of the season from 226 balls faced.

He has hit a six and nine fours so far - Northeast another player who perhaps should have had a chance at international level, but it never quite materialised.

  12. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 23 May

Durham 277 all out v Somerset

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The partnership ends at 50, they lasted 17 overs.

Minto goes for 34 to add to his 67 the other day, Yusuf 16*.

Durham will come out with a spring in their step after that partnership, it will be interesting to see who comes out to open for Somerset in 10 minutes time for 17 overs left in the day.

  13. 6 runs

Batting point for Glamorganpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 23 May

    Glamorgan 254-3 v Middlesex

Sam Northeast is down the track and hits Zafar Gohar for a straight six, bringing up a 200 partnership with Kiran Carlson and earning Glamorgan a first batting point. It also takes him to 99 not out.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 23 May

    Minto c Lammonby b Pretorius 34 (Durham 277 all out v Somerset)

    Durham all out (finally).

The fun's over for young James Minto who steers Migael Pretorius straight to Tom Lammonby at square leg.

The 17-year-old, (yes, he's really only 17) looks disappointed as he walks off with Codi Yusuf after putting on exactly 50 for the last wicket.

He shouldn't be down though, it's been a fantastic effort from the number 11, who, along with Yusuf, has injected some real momentum into this Durham innings.

Minto will come flying out with the ball when it's his turn.

  15. Postpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 23 May

    Durham 268-9 v Somerset

This is some tail wag from Durham, with last pair Codi Yusuf and James Minto having fun in the evening sunshine.

They've added 42 off 68 balls to take Durham beyond 250 and to a first batting point.

Minto's just taken Migael Pretorius for a couple of fours - one admittedly hacked over the slips - but they all count.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 23 May

    Patterson-White c Duke b Hill 4 (Yorks v Notts 197-7)

A second breakthrough for Yorkshire inside two overs.

Harry Duke takes another catch but this time he doesn't have to run 30 yards to do it.

Liam Patterson-White plays away from his body and edges a straightforward chance into the gloves.

  17. Postpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 23 May

    Durham 268-9 v Somerset

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

He first came to Durham's notice as an opening batsman aged 14, Ben Raine similarly started his career as a top order bat.

Only recently has James Minto's left-arm seam come to the fore.

In case you missed it, Durham's last pair have comfortably notched up their first batting bonus point.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    Burns c Elgar b Porter 15 (Surrey 22-1 v Essex 217)

    Vital breakthrough for Essex.

Jamie Porter tempts Rory Burns into an injudicious flash outside off stump and the Surrey captain is caught at first slip by Dean Elgar.

Out comes Australian Kurtis Patterson - one of those unlucky players who scored a century in what proved to be their final Test appearance and was then left out.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 23 May

    James c Duke b Thompson 29 (Yorks v Notts 192-6)

Lyndon James takes on a short ball from Jordan Thompson and Harry Duke covers the best part of 30 yards to take the top edge at square leg.

The wicketkeeper did well and that has the feel of a decent breakthrough for the home side who had hit a patch of treacle chasing against Joe Clarke and James.

  20. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Surrey 22-0 v Essex 217

Three fours in the latest Jamie Porter for Rory Burns, all through the leg-side, which suggests the Essex seamer's radar isn't quite right.

No major alarms yet for the Surrey openers, who will be focusing on seeing it through to the close.
