Oh, no, they're here after all.

Let's get on with it then.

This innings breaks feels a fair bit longer than the others we've had in this tournament.

I suppose they can afford it in the circumstances - maybe both teams have popped back to the hotel for a mid-match nap.

Jared Maobe: Wow, just wow! South Africa with the ball, that is a masterclass.

South Africa bowler Kagiso Rabada: "We weren't expecting that. We just wanted to come out and hit our straps the we have in this tournament. We felt we needed to continue in that vein and it happened for us.

"It's obviously moving around quite a bit. But we put the ball in the right areas, bowling with the right energy and reaped the rewards.

"It's about every game coming in and doing your best. That's all I've tried to do in my career, sometimes you bowl well and don't get results, sometimes you don't bowl well and get results. I'm just glad that things are turning out our way.

"We 100% believe this is the team. Why play if we don't believe it?"

Does WinViz account for such a scenario?

    It should in my opinion.

    Thanks Sam.

I'm looking forward to discovering what strange and unusual ways South Africa will find to somehow lose this.

Perhaps they one-by-one slip through the cracks of this pitch into a hellish alternative dimension full of terrifying monsters, and, more significantly, leave their stumps exposed in the process.

In those circumstances I'd say Afghanistan were favourites.

Right then, it might not take long but to take you through the South Africa chase, it is over to Mike Peter.

    Breaking

Conditions helped the bowlers but the Proteas attack really made the most of them.

Fantastic from seamers and spinners alike.

We all know South Africa's reputation in big World Cup matches but they'd really have to outdo themselves not to make it through to the final from here...

Poor from Afghanistan. They've underperformed today, they've got a fragile middle order and for the first time in this tournament and we've seen it.

That is as out as you can get. It's not only the lowest T20 semi-final score, it's the lowest score at this tournament bar a couple from Uganda.

Naveen lbw b Shamsi 2 (Afg 56 all out)

Three reds, hitting halfway up middle and Afghanistan are bowled out for their lowest ever T20I total.

Fantastic bowling effort from South Africa and Tabraiz Shamsi finishes it off with his third wicket.

Afghanistan have the unwanted record of the lowest total in a T20 World Cup semi-final - and by a long way.

  12. Afghanistan reviewpublished at 11.5 overs

That could well be that for Afghanistan as Naveen-ul-Haq is given out lbw on the sweep.

It's sent upstairs because why not?

  13. Afg 53-9published at 11 overs

Naveen-ul-Haq guides the ball down to deep third for two.

Afghanistan need another 20 to go past their previous lowest total in a T20 international.

He got in line so well the previous ball. This time he literally jumps out of the way of the delivery. It was awful, that was a captain who's been defeated.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.2 overs

    Rashid b Nortje 8 (Afg 50-9)

Off stump out of the ground!

Batting has not been easy on this pitch and this is another one that stays low.

Rashid Khan is on the back foot and backing away, the ball from Anrich Nortje scoots through and crashes into the timbers.

Afghanistan will look back on this World Cup and know how successful they've been. But this isn't how they'd have wanted it to go, it's a bit embarrassing.

  17. Afg 50-8published at 10 overs

Tabraiz Shamsi's over started with a long hop hit for four then a wide.

It ends with two wickets to the spinner's name.

South Africa have one foot in the final already as the players take drinks.

Too deep in the crease, too late in the shot. This is bleak for Afghanistan.

Clipping leg again - it's two in the over for Tabraiz Shamsi.

This one didn't do quite as much so even though it pitched on leg, with Noor Ahmed on the back foot, it was still going on to flick leg.

Afghanistan's dream game has turned into something of a nightmare.

  20. Afghanistan reviewpublished at 9.5 overs

Umpire Richard Illingworth raises his finger again as Tabraiz Shamsi hits Noor Ahmed on the pads.

The Afghanistan batter quickly reviews. This one looked less clear cut.
