It's making me wanting to dust my bowling boots off, I'd swim to Trinidad to have a bowl on this.

  2. Afg 28-5published at 6.2 overs

Steven Finn gets his wish and Anrich Nortje produces a cracker second ball.

Rapid and nipping away from Azmatullah Omarzai.

The way it's going, I'd be keen to get Nortje in.

They say if you lose three wickets in a powerplay you seldom win a game of T20 cricket, when you lose five it's hard to think you ever would. But stranger things have happened...

  5. Afg 28-5published at 6 overs

Azmatullah Omarzai pulls a single to fine leg and that is the last run of a nightmare powerplay for Afghanistan.

Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen have blown their top order away - and made a decent start on the middle order, too.

WinViz gives South Africa a 92% chance of making the final from here. So you're telling me there's a chance (for Afghanistan)?

    Shot!

Azmatullah Omarzai gets the first runs off Kagiso Rabada in the match with a glorious shot, hit high and handsome over extra cover.

    One bounce for four.

It's the extra bounce of Marco Jansen, he's not quite hulking, more like a pipe cleaner, but he propels the ball from a great height. Every time it hits the corner of one of those cracks we've seen batters on the gloves, hit on the elbow.

Gloved down leg. Start the car?!

Marco Jansen has his third, Afghanistan are five down and five overs into this semi-final, is this game may already over as a contest?

Nangeyalia Kharote had flicked the previous ball square for two, he tried to get a shorter delivery through the same region but was done for pace and gloved it behind to Quinton de Kock.

Big games call for big players.

It doesn't get much better than a double-wicket maiden in a T20 World Cup semi-final.

Kagiso Rabada is pure class. But you knew that.

This is a naughty wicket but South Africa are making the most of it. That movement from Rabada is beautiful.

There's serious jag off that one. He gets his bat on the correct line but it's too late the ball's already gone through.

    Nabi b Rabada 0 (Afg 20-4)

That's a beauty from Kagiso Rabada!

It's nipped back again and this one is even better. Slightly fuller, Mohammad Nabi comes forward but the ball whistles through the gate.

Serious movement for Rabada and Afghanistan are reeling, off stump was cartwheeling.

South Africa will be very happy they lost the toss. If they were batting first, the Afghanistan bowlers would be causing them all sort of problems. But they've ended up bowling first and Jansen and Rabada have been wreaking havoc.

When Afghanistan's openers flourish they win, when they don't they don't. This is looking very bad. Zadran's feet didn't move at all, poorly played.

    Zadran b Radaba 2 (Afg 20-3)

    Kagiso Rabada strikes first ball!

It's the nip-backer from the South Africa fast bowler and Ibrahim Zadran doesn't move his feet.

The ball goes between bat and pad to hit the top of middle and leg. Superb bowling and real trouble for Afghanistan.

  16. Afg 20-2published at 3 overs

    Nearly three down!

Bounce for Marco Jansen and Azmatullah Omarzai fends it off down leg.

Heinrich Klaasen dives from leg slip but just can't get there. Four runs.

Every time Jansen's got his line right outside off, he's caused trouble for Afghanistan. Gulbadin trying to assert himself on the game, can only find the inside edge.

It's come back savagely, he was cramped, almost ended up squatting trying to get his bat down as the ball jagged back in.

    Gulbadin b Jansen 9 (Afg 16-2)

Bowled 'im! Two for Marco Jansen.

It's good line from the left-armer and just back of a length, Gulbadin Naib plays back to it and is caught on the crease as the ball nips back.

The top of off stump is hit and Afghanistan are in trouble early in Trinidad.

  20. Afg 15-1published at 2.1 overs

Gulbadin Naib is not going to hang around here.

After a wide to start the over, Gulbadin pulls the next ball from Marco Jansen through mid-on for four.

    Nice shot.
