A great feature of Australia's play is that they are athletes, they probably do shuttle runs in their sleep.

  2. Aus 37-0published at 5 overs

The more experienced Lea Tahuhu is thrown the ball by Sophie Devine as she attempts to claw things back after Alyssa Healy's aggressive start.

Tahuhu's head bobs forward as she attacks the crease with her delivery stride. A leg bye, wide and some clever farming of the strike allow Australia to collect eight runs off the over.

Alyssa Healy is trying to send everything now.

Alyssa Healy looks on it today I tell you.

    Australia are on fire here.

  5. Aus 29-0published at 4 overs

Wowzers. Alyssa Healy skips down the track and powerfully square drives, on the up, as Eden Carson's third ball to the fence for four.

Flair, style and aggression from the Aussie skipper.

These are problematic signs for New Zealand.

That's more like the Alyssa Healy we know. Fran Jonas really didn't get her length right at all and Healy capitalised on that. She's started to pick up after a slow start.

  8. Aus 22-0published at 3 overs

After that reprieve Alyssa Healy decides now is the time to go after left-arm spinner Fran Jonas, who is making her World Cup debut.

The Aussie skipper twice takes the aerial route, thwacking Jonas back over her head for a couple of fours down the ground.

Australia pocket 13 runs off the over.

  9. Healy survivespublished at 2.1 overs

A very good decision to review by the Australia skipper, because that looked close.

However, the technology showed it struck Healy outside the line.

This is very exciting, I don't know about this one.

  11. Australia reviewpublished at 2.1 overs

Alyssa Healy attempts to sweep a straight one from Fran Jonas. New Zealand appeal.

It's given out, but Healy decides to review.

New Zealand have started right on the money here.

  13. Aus 9-0published at 2 overs

Like a bell ringer at a village church, spinner Eden Carson idiosyncratically clasps her hands together in front of her as she runs in to bowl.

The final ball of Carson's over is wide and flighted which tempts Alyssa Healy into an expansive aerial drive but she does not quite get the distance to match the elevation.

Australia can get a bit obsessed with getting to a certain total.

The call to prayer echoes around the the vicinity of the Sharjah Cricket Stadium as the first over from Rosemary Mair starts relatively serenely.

A single apiece for Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney.

Rosemary Mair is laughing because she realised what a diabolical call that was.

  17. Healy survivespublished at 0.1 overs

    Miles down leg.

New Zealand maybe thought they had two chances with the caught behind as well, but Alyssa Healy's bat was miles away from the ball.

We've got drama straight away. I felt as if it hit the pad.

  19. New Zealand reviewpublished at 0.1 overs

Alyssa Healy has been hit on the edge of her pad by Rosemary Mair and New Zealand decide to review it.

Ball looks to be heading down leg side, so slightly baffling.

I'm excited for this game. Australia are the favourites but New Zealand had that great game against India so I feel like their confidence may bring us a close game.
