Six down before the world's best spinner had even come on to bowl was not a great place for South Africa to be... and it was no surprise that it got worse once Sophie Ecclestone was brought on.

Charlie Dean also got in on the act as the Proteas crumbled...

What better way to spend the break than looking back at those England wickets - they came so quickly that you might have missed them after all.

Linsey Smith got things starting with the prized scalp of Laura Wolvaardt then bowled Tazmin Brits in her next over with Lauren Bell castling Sune Luus as South Africa found themselves three down inside five overs...

    Thanks, Elizabeth.

Well... I've got to be honest, I was not expecting that! What a start for England!

It looked like there might be quite a quick turnaround between innings as Tammy Beaumont ran off the field but no sign of the openers - or the South Africa bowlers warming-up - just yet so we might have the full half-hour break.

So, England need just 70 to get their World Cup campaign off to a winning start.

Here's Sam Drury to take you through their chase.

  6. 'A dream start'published at 12:00 BST

England seamer Lauren Bell: "What a start that was. Linsey Smith set the tone up top then every bowler came on and did their job. Couldn't be happier with that start.

On Linsey Smith: "I think she's obviously a great match-up for the top order here but she's such a skilful player and swings the new ball so she'll be an important player for us moving forward."

On the pitch: "We've bowled pretty well on it so we'll see. Hopefull we've restricted them to a pretty decent score."

On aggressive approach: "We talked about controlling the game and with that we'll hopefully take wickets. That's happened today, a dream start and we couldn't be much happier."

That is South Africa’s third-lowest total in ODI history and their second lowest total in World Cups, following their 51 all out against New Zealand in the 2009 World Cup.

It's that stage of the timings where in club cricket, you're asking 'is lunch ready or are we going straight back out?'

Nat Sciver-Brunt says England are chalk and cheese from the last World Cup and I like this cheese - it is very, very tasty and lovely to watch.

That is it. Another bowled and Dean has another wicket.

South Africa have bowled bowled out for a pitiful 69, they've been taken to the cleaners by England.

    That's all folks.

Charlie Dean bowls Nonkululeko Mlaba, annihilating her off stump.

South Africa are all out for 69 - their lowest ever total against England, beating their previous low of 77.

    Wow.

There's been some good bowling, Linsey Smith bowled beautifully with the new ball. It was basically in-swing.

But there have been some awful shots.

  12. SA 67-9published at 20 overs

Ayabonga Khaka and Nonkululeko Mlaba exchange three singles. South Africa's 10th-wicket pair are batting far more sensibly than many of their team-mates.

This is such a big game because SA will now have to beat New Zealand on Monday to stand any chance of the semi-final.

Slightly overpitched by Charlie Dean, getting that flight on the ball and trying to see if she can find some turn.

    I don't mind that but it's a lovely shot.

  15. SA 64-9published at 19 overs

Ayabonga Khaka might find herself batting up the order if she keeps playing shots like that! She spies a gap in the field and plants the ball firmly through the covers for four.

Coming into this we were saying this is not the game England would have wanted to start, it's one of your tougher group games.

But South Africa have been well below average.

I'm sorry, your team is 60-8 and you've tried to charge the best spinner in the world and hoick her to who knows where?!

Jafta has put up a bit of a fight but has had a tailender's brain fade.

There might not be time to give Linsey Smith another bowl as South Africa are nine down!

It's a lapse in concentration from Sinalo Jafta, coming down to Sophie Ecclestone but failing to connect. Her stumps are rearranged. She departs for 22 (36).
