Summary

A lot of credit must go to Suryakumar Yadav, mind.

That was a sublime knock - 53 off 28 balls, including five fours and three sixes.

Shots that deserve a repeat viewing. Handily we have plenty of clips of SKY teeing off for you to enjoy...

After having India 16-1 off three overs and having removed Suryakumar Yadav off the last ball of the 17th over to leave their opponents 150-5, Afghanistan will be a bit disappointed to have conceded over 180.

They have the firepower up top to chase this down, but India have a fine bowling attack and you fear Afghanistan may not be able to maintain the momentum required should they lose a few wickets.

I think India will back themselves to win and will be very comfortable with that. Afghanistan are so top heavy, there's going to be a lot of pressure on their top three.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 20 overs

Axar run out (Naveen) 12 (Ind 181-8)

Axar Patel misses the final delivery and India attempt a sneaky bye through to the wicketkeeper.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz lobs it to Naveen-ul-Haq, who has time to run to the stumps and knock them over before Axar can make his ground.

Some canny late hitting from Axar, though, which gets India over 180.

Afghanistan need 182 to beat India for the first time in T20s.

  5. Ind 181-7published at 19.5 overs

Naveen's bowled another wide. How can he live with his sen?

Another attempt to go wide, Axar read it well and allowed the ball to almost glide off his bat.

  7. Ind 180-7published at 19.5 overs

    Cute.

Axar Patel deftly guides another attempted wide yorker over short third and away for four runs.

    That's 180 up for India.

  8. Ind 176-7published at 19.4 overs

Axar is giving India some late impetus, though.

A slap down the ground brings up two more.

It feels like it's been a slow end to India's innings. Losing a couple of wickets in quick succession.

  10. Ind 174-7published at 19.3 overs

Another wide full toss from Naveen and this time he is punished as Axar slaps it to the boundary.

Not great bowling. You can see what he's trying to do but the execution is poor.

  11. Ind 170-7published at 19.2 overs

Loose from Naveen - a wide full toss, but Axar can't find the fence and only picks up two to deep point.

  12. Ind 168-7published at 19.1 overs

Naveen starts with a wide but then nails that wide yorker next up for a dot.

  13. Ind 167-7published at 19 overs

Axar Patel can hold a bat...Arshdeep Singh perhaps not.

What can they do with one more over to go?

Afghanistan have dragged this back pretty well.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.4 overs

    Jadeja c Gulbadin b Farooqi 7 (Ind 165-7)

Ravindra Jadeja was here for a good time, not a long time.

He pulls the previous ball beautfiully behind square for four but then falls to one of the oddest shots you'll ever see.

He starts an attempted ramp over the wicketkeeper but then changes his mind and ends up flapping it straight to short third.

One you're going to want to watch back to truly understand when the clip drops...

If Afghanistan can let these last two overs not go for 20 or more they will be happy with that and should back themselves to chase it down.

Afghanistan are just keeping themselves in and have taken two important wickets.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18 overs

    Hardik c Azmatullah b Naveen 32 (Ind 159-6)

    Onslaught ended.

Naveen-ul-Haq fires it down wider and Hardik Pandya slices it high but not very handsome.

Azmatullah Omarzai reaches up at deep point and completes the catch.

A bit of momentum back with Afghanistan after those quick wickets of SKY and Hardik?

To the naked eye it didn't look out.

  19. Not outpublished at 17.5 overs

    Hardik 32 (23)

    Nope. Missing leg stump entirely.

Hardik Pandya gets the green light to continue his onslaught.

  20. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 20 June

No bat. Could be umpire's call on leg stump?
