    Kohli c Nabi b Rashid 24 (Ind 62-3)

Afghanistan can sense something special might just happen today. Virat Kohli is gone!

A poor shot by Kohli as he chips Rashid Khan straight down the throat of Mohammad Nabi at long-off.

Kohli's struggles in this tournament continue - 24 off 24 balls is a pretty ordinary knock from an opener in T20s.

That's a second scalp for Rashid, who is fired up here.

  3. Ind 60-2published at 8 overs

    Kohli 22, Suryakumar 2

Wrist-spin to the fore as 19-year-old left-armer Noor Ahmad joins Rashid Khan in the attack.

Tidy work - one wide and five singles off the over.

New batter Suryakumar Yadav picks up a couple of those singles as he gets off the mark.

Kohli may make a handy hitter in baseball.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7 overs

    Pant lbw b Rashid 20 (Ind 54-2)

    Goner.

A lovely flighted leg-break from Rashid Khan that pitched on off and straightened perfectly.

That was going on to hit off stump about three quarters up and once Rishabh Pant missed it, he was done for.

That drop from Naveen-ul-Haq didn't cost too much in the end. Can Afghanistan capitalise here?

    Pant is toast.

It's pretty much hit him on the full in front of off stump after he missed the reverse sweep.

It was full, Pant went for the reverse. There was no hesitation at all from the umpire.

  8. India reviewpublished at 7 overs

    Crucial moment here.

Rashid Khan spins one past Rishabh Pant's defences and it crashes into his pad.

    Massive appeal and instantly given.

Pant eventually decides to send it upstairs...

That over has just changed the complexion of the game. It now feels like it's just India's powerplay.

    Ind 47-1

Yes, Kohli's bat was clearly back behind the line.

India may have hoped for a few more runs in the powerplay after electing to bat, but they'll certainly take this score given those first three overs and the early loss of Rohit Sharma.

  12. Umpire reviewpublished at 6 overs

Rishabh Pant smacks the final ball of Mohammad Nabi's over right back down the ground and the ball strikes the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Nabi got a touch on it so they're going to check if Virat Kohli has been run out.

It didn't look like Kohli was out of his ground though.

  13. Ind 47-1published at 5.4 overs

And Pant of course clatters the next ball for four through cover.

  14. dropped catch

Pant dropped on 11published at 5.3 overs

    Oh dear.

Rishabh Pant goes for the sweep, the ball keeps carrying and Naveen-ul-Haq at fine leg is in play...

...he gets there but makes a hash of it, the ball missing his hands, rebounding off his chest and trickling into the rope.

    That could prove very costly...

A crisp connection, he elevated that ball and Pant is looking good.

  16. Ind 39-1published at 5.2 overs

    Glorious.

Rishabh Pant unfurls the reverse sweep and hits it for four.

  17. Not outpublished at 5.1 overs

    Ind 35-1

    Easily home. On we go.

  18. Umpire reviewpublished at 5.1 overs

A sharp single as Virat Kohli taps round the corner and Rishabh Pant scurries to the striker's end.

It's a direct hit but Pant looked safe.

    They're going to check anyway...

It's not the sort of surface or pitch that comes on easily. There's still something in it for the bowler.
