We have only had 44.1 overs and I can't see how the players are going to get back on now. This cloud hasn't budged all day and it's only going to get darker as the sun sets.

Root's centuries have been lauded as masterclasses in batting - dreams to watch. Atkinson knocking a maiden Test century and taking a 5-wicket haul in the same match gave England fans much to cheer about. But surely nothing gives as much unalloyed pleasure as watching a player, under much pressure and undeserved criticism, showing his class and proving his detractors wrong. Well played, Ollie!
