    Ben Duckett waits nervously.

Duckett went the other way, he's held is position, watches it very very nicely and sent it over.

These are shots you see in white ball format, not red ball.

  3. Eng 137-1published at 24.4 overs

Second six of the over. Ben Duckett sends that one over the boundary at third. 84 from 75 for BD.

That was perfectly played, Ben Duckett got into the off side early, he got it it exactly where he wanted it.

  5. Eng 129-1published at 24.1 overs

Well, he tried it in the previous Kumara over and didn't quite get it right. This time it is executed exactly as Duckett planned, though. He steps inside and flicks it over fine leg for six.

  6. Eng 123-1published at 24 overs

Ohhh, Duckett miscues that completely. Mendis at square leg didn't pick it up at all, although I don't think he would have got there anyway. It is rather gloomy.

Just a sense of Ollie Pope's class, that's a very good shot.

  8. Eng 119-1published at 23 overs

That is the best of Ollie Pope - head frozen still as he clipped through mid-wicket. He ends the over on 41 from 51...but he is out of nick, apparently.

I see what you did there, Tony. And I like it.

    Run rabbit run.

  11. Eng 113-1published at 22.1 overs

Ben Duckett attempts a cheeky little scope to fine leg.

The result? The ball flies away to the boundary down at third.

  12. Eng 109-1published at 22 overs

Just get the sense that England are going to try and push this game forward sharply. Although these days, when is that ever not the case?!

Pope picks up a couple with one of those attempted leaves that ends up coming off the bat face. He picks up a couple more to finish the over with a clip off of his legs. 10 from it.

It's a really poor delivery again, that's a free shot.

  14. 100 runs

    Eng 103-1published at 21.1 overs

More width offered and Pope helps himself. England's 100 is up.

  15. Eng 99-1published at 21 overs

Pope's elbow is A-OK as is that over from Kumara. England one short of a team century now.

  16. Eng 96-1published at 20.1 overs

Lahiru Kumara, who has the one England wicket to fall so far, back into the attack.

He immediately gets one to nip back and catch Ollie Pope on the elbow. Brief delay while they dab up the blood and apply a plaster.

  17. Eng 96-1published at 20 overs

Much, much better from Asitha Fernando. A little bit of much-needed consistency for Sri Lanka. Just the one off it, and that was very much an inside edge for Ollie Pope

    That's poor bowling.

Ben Duckett in this fine form is going to absolutely wallop it.

  19. Eng 95-1published at 19 overs

Give Ben Duckett an inch and he'll cut you for four.

Final ball of the 19th whistles to the boundary, and, with that, Duckett and Ollie Pope have added 50 for the second wicket.

  20. Eng 89-1published at 18 overs

    Four from that over.

With all these bowlers named Fernando, I cannot get a certain Swedish band out of my mush. Many a fine evening in my life has commenced with a session belting out ABBA on karaoke.

What songs do the good folk of the BBC live-text associate with Test cricket?
