Great Britain's Andy Tennant won silver in the men's individual pursuit at the Track World Cup in Colombia.

Tennant, who registered a personal best in qualifying, finished an agonising 2.026 seconds behind Germany's Domenic Weinstein in the gold medal race.

The Wolverhampton-born rider, 28, posted a time of four minutes 22.095 seconds in Cali, with Russia's Dmitry Sokolov picking up bronze.

"The qualifier was a lot better than that the final," said Tennant.

"It's my first world cup medal in an IP so it's nice."
