Luke Humphries speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a different scenario for me. When you're defending champion, there is a different pressure on me. I'm not here to win the title tonight, just to get through the next round. I've prepared well and I'm feeling good."

On his form in the last six weeks: "I think winning the Players Championship gave me a bit of a boost. Beating Luke Littler was also a good experience, especially if we play each other in the semi-finals. Whoever I face tonight, I'm ready."

On his rivalry with Luke Littler: "He's got such a high level that for me, if I accept the level I'm at now, he will probably get a little bit better than me, so I have to get a little bit better and match him. We're getting better at the same time. We're at a similar level at the moment. I like it, we are a match for each other. You never know who is going to win and that is so exciting."

Luke Humphries is back in action in tonight's final match at Alexandra Palace.

Humphries currently ranks top of the PDC Order of Merit, having pocketed just over £1.8m in prize money from ranking event tournaments in the last two years, over double the amount of every other player.

His opponent Thibault Tricole has already been in action this evening, beating Joe Comito 3-1 in the opening match of the night.

The winner of this match will return to action after Christmas in the third round, where 2007 World Champion Raymond van Barneveld could await tonight's victor.

The Prince of Wales said he wants to be "positive" and not "preach" as he discussed the goals behind his Earthshot Prize - over a game of darts and a pint.

William ordered his favourite tipple cider when he met with actress Hannah Waddingham at Alexandra Palace, which is staging the World Championship.

In a video released on the prince's social media channels, he reveals he talks to his children about the importance of nature and stresses how we all should venture into the natural world.

In the footage, where the pair joke about their lack of darts prowess, the future King said: "So I talk to my children the whole time about it, and it's important that they see, touch, feel and go into nature."

    Result: Huybrechts 1-3 Barry

If this is Kim Huybrechts' last leg of the night, he has reached double figures for 180s on the night.

Keane Barry's 100 sets up three darts at double 20, which he gets after Kim Huybrechts fails to take out 110.

Barry does exactly that with one dart and the high-scoring Huybrechts is out at the first attempt.

The 22-year-old from the Republic of Ireland will face Gerwyn Price in the second round.

Huybrechts just shrugs with a smile on his face as he leaves the stage, he knows he didn't do an awful lot wrong there.

  6. Barry moves within one leg of victorypublished at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-2 Barry (1-2)

Keane Barry, back on his throw, continues the high scoring he has shown in recent legs.

He goes 180, 140 to set up a finish of 81, which he misses out on the double 16 attempt.

Kim Huybrechts' ninth 180 of the night applies pressure, with Barry missing his next two double attempts before taking out double eight.

The Irishman is a leg away from a big win here.

  7. Huybrechts levels on his throwpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-2 Barry (1-1)

It has felt like a lifetime since Kim Huybrechts' seventh 180 of the match, but he finally adds to it while on his throw in a very commanding leg for "The Hurricane".

A finish on double 16, with Keane Barry not in sight, levels things up.

  8. Barry holds fourth set openerpublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-2 Barry (0-1)

The last few legs have seemed to take their toll on Kim Huybrechts, who needs some inspiration to get back into this match.

Keane Barry's scoring had briefly slowed up, but a 134 soon breaks that.

Kim Huybrechts is left three darts at double 20 but fails to take the finish at both tops and double 10.

An unusual route, Barry takes the leg on double six.

This has been an assault by Keane Barry. He has arrived at the Ally Pally and is playing his best stuff.

  10. Barry wins third setpublished at 21:53 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-2 Barry

Start as you mean to go on, Keane Barry.

Four perfect darts from the 22-year-old puts him in a good position to take the third set on his throw.

He gets three darts at 88, but the bull attempt lands in 25.

Kim Huybrechts gets a chance at 170 to level up, but like Barry, puts the bull attempt into 25.

Barry's reprieve is one he takes with both hands. A finish on double four wins him the set.

  11. Barry breaks in third setpublished at 21:51 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-1 Barry (1-2)

Keane Barry is kicking on now and finds his fifth 180 and the 12th of the match.

Barry backs it up with 140 to give himself three darts at 41.

The third, his second attempt at double 16, puts him 2-1 up in the set.

  12. Barry levels in set threepublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-1 Barry (1-1)

Kim Huybrechts almost starts leg two of the set with a 180, but sees his third dart bounce out of the board.

To rub salt in the wound, Keane Barry's next visit is a maximum.

The Irishman then takes out 86 to level up on his throw.

  13. Huybrechts ekes out third set openerpublished at 21:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-1 Barry (1-0)

Coming off the back of a thrilling second set, the third starts off quite poorly by the standards set so far in this match.

Kim Huybrechts sparks some life into it going for a 140 finish, narrowly missing off on double 160.

Keane Barry can break with a 90 out, but does not take it.

Huybrechts gets there in the end, needing three more darts at double 16 to take it out.

  14. Who tops the averages?published at 21:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

The year may have seemed like a tale of two Lukes - Humphries and Littler - but it is another player who tops the three-dart averages for the year going into the world championship.

Two-time champion Gary Anderson leads the way, although you'll have to wait a week to see the Scot in action when he takes on the winner of Jeffrey de Graaf and Rashad Sweeting next Sunday.

Gary Anderson tops the yearly averages ahead of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Chris Dobey

  18. Barry levels match with 108 finishpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-1 Barry

Keane Barry has the chance to level the match on his throw, but a seventh 180 already from Kim Huybrechts really puts the pressure on.

Huybrechts gets the chance to finish first, but Barry's first attempt is a slightly more favourable 108.

    Treble 20, single 16, double 16. Perfect.

Huybrechts acknowledges the quality of that set, whistling along to the crowd as he walks off the stage at the end of the second set.

That is three 100+ finishes already from Barry in this match.

  19. Huybrechts holds againpublished at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-0 Barry (2-2)

Nine 180s in the match and six in two sets for Kim Huybechts!

His latest maximum sets up a 103 finish, which he almost takes out, had it not been for a miss on double 16.

At the next visit, he picks it out perfectly in one dart.

  20. Barry regains second set leadpublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Huybrechts 1-0 Barry (1-2)

Keane Barry is playing sensibly when he has leads in legs.

He is not forcing big finishes when possible and buying time, leaving a 121 attempt on bull by laying up.

Barry takes it on double 16 after giving himself a full visit to do so.
