We've seen in this match, maybe not the huge scoring, but how important steady scoring is.

    We're seeing very decent averages.

Both over 100 at the midway point of leg five...

    Cross v Aspinall

Here come the players for the quarter-final number four - I don't envy them having to follow the last match!

The good news for them is that Nathan Aspinall's walk-on song is Mr Brightside by The Killers which immediately gets the crowd going.

Our last quarter-final of the evening sees 2018 world champ Rob Cross take on world number four Nathan Aspinall.

Cross has only gone out at the quarter-final stage once so far this Premier League season - and even that was after a deciding leg against Luke Littler.

However, he has only reached one final. That was in Exeter, where he fell to a 6-2 loss against Aspinall.

The Asp started slowly this campaign, losing in the quarters in the first three weeks before making the final in week four.

He lost to Michael van Gerwen on that occasion but went one better the following week.

After defeat by Littler in the last eight in Brighton last week, he'll be hoping to bounce back in Nottingham.

    Result: Van Gerwen 2-6 Littler

    A match of ludicrous quality!

Michael van Gerwen averaged 110.94 but was blown out of the water by Luke Littler.

The teenager averaged 114 - that is just silly. Eight 180s as well for Littler. He will take some stopping in that form.

  12. Littler misses nine-darter... but surges into semispublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

    Van Gerwen 2-6 Littler

    Nottingham was ready to explode!

Luke Littler comes so close to another nine-darter! He gets all the way to the double 12 - but just misses.

It's no bother, though. He settles with an 11-darter to storm into the last four.

  14. Littler is flying!published at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

    Van Gerwen 2-5 Littler

    Obscene from Luke Littler!

He's hit seven - SEVEN - 180s in this match already and breaks yet again.

    He's romping to victory.

  15. Littler holdspublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

    Van Gerwen 2-4 Littler

Luke Littler hits tops for the first hold of the match...

But only after Michael van Gerwen came within millimetres of taking out 170.

Littler allowed himself a moment to breathe after that.

This game is being played at a relentless pace with some outrageous scoring.

  19. MVG breaks backpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

    Van Gerwen 2-2 Littler

A gift for Michael van Gerwen as Luke Littler misses three darts at double eight.

That allows MVG to come back and find double 10 to break again.
