Summary

  1. Littler breaks Cross again for 3-0 leadpublished at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March

    Littler 3-0 Cross

For the second leg in a row, Luke Littler fires in another 180 and remains so cool and in control.

A 140 two visits later gets him down to a 122 out, which he will get at least six darts to see off.

Treble 18 and treble 16 set up double 10, which Littler splits. A rarity for him.

Littler does the same at double five and double two, allowing Rob Cross a go at 70.

Treble 18 set up double eight for Voltage, but his second attempt lands in double 16, with Littler going 3-0 up on double one.

Now on his throw, Luke Littler really lays the gauntlet down for Rob Cross.

The Nuke has at least six darts at 95. After a treble 15 leaves 50, he plays safe and goes 10, double 20 for 2-0.

    Very convincing.

    Littler 1-0 Cross

Rob Cross is scoring well, but gets down to just outside a finish on 175. After the same number of darts, Luke Littler is at 167. Neither land.

Cross goes close to a 117 out, but the attempted double 20 finish is low.

Littler is allowed at 70 for a break of throw, squeezing his last dart into tops for an early break of throw.

These two have met twice already in the Premier League this year.

The first saw Littler come from 5-1 down to win 6-5 against Cross in Glasgow's quarter-final.

Last week's semi-final between the two in Nottingham was a 6-3 Littler win, but both men averaged north of 103 in that tie.

Cross will look to stop Littler making it to a fourth final in a row.

Cross to throw first, game on!

Rob Cross tells Sky Sports that it’s cold up on the stage – he struggled with it even when he was racing into a 4-2 lead.

We’ve had a lovely day in Cardiff today but it is a little chilly in the arena – I’ve gone from rolled up shirt sleeves to putting my jacket on in the last hour.

Plenty on the atmosphere, the love for Gerwyn Price and more, but now it is time for a temperature check...

There were moments for Chris Dobey but they weren’t frequent enough and he’ll be disappointed – tonight was a good opportunity to make up ground on the play-off places. There’s a top player in there when he puts it all together.

For Michael van Gerwen, it’s a first final of this year’s tournament for the seven-time Premier League champion and a chance to really launch what he will hope to be a title challenge.

  9. Van Gerwen and Dobey averaging lowpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March

    Result: Dobey 1-6 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen hardly had to get out of second gear in that win over Chris Dobey.

He averaged 91.53, which was still significantly clear of Dobey's 82.28.

On the doubles, Van Gerwen landed six of his 19 attempts, but five of his 13 misses did come in the final leg.

Dobey only managed three darts at a double in the match, pinning one.

Chris Dobey will be thinking he's done well to get two points tonight because he hasn't played well at all. The best players pick up points in the Premier League when they are not playing well.

It just didn't happen for him in this match.

Van Gerwen splits the 20s, 10s and fives. Three missed match darts.

Needing 94, Dobey goes for the double double 19 route and completely misses it. Two misses at double two from Van Gerwen bring Dobey back. Five missed match darts.

But Dobey does not land it, missing both sides of double 20.

This is the night where Michael van Gerwen has looked focused throughout. Even when he was losing to Luke Humphries that was just because Luke was playing better than him.

So far Michael has got an off spell in every week but he hasn't so far tonight.

    Dobey 1-4 Van Gerwen

  16. Dobey breaks back against Van Gerwenpublished at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March

    Dobey 1-3 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen is hardly playing like a man who has lost all five of his semi-finals this year.

A couple of low visits open the door for Chris Dobey at 146, but cannot get the second treble 19 attempt to stick.

Dobey is allowed back at 52 and in two darts, breaks back at Van Gerwen.
