Earlier today, ParalympicsGB's Gordon Reid lost 6-0 7-6 (7-5) to Argentine Gustavo Fernandez in the men's wheelchair tennis singles quarter-finals. Here's what he had to say following that loss:

“I'm not really disappointed with my level today. I thought I played a good match, but beating Gustavo on the clay is one of the toughest challenges in our sport.

"It was always going to be a tough one, and I fought until the end and nearly, nearly turned it around in the second [set], but I just didn't quite have enough to get it over the line."

On playing in the men's doubles semi-final alongside Alfie Hewett later today, he said: “I feel a bit drained from that, emotionally and physically, but I've got a little bit of time to prepare now for the doubles.

“If you want a match to get you up for after a loss, it’s a semi-final at the Paralympics that you want. So I'll be ready when the time comes.”

The ramp down which the riders start their time trials is quite steep - you need to get your start right to avoid an accident.

That's what befell Chinese rider Li Xiaohui this morning in the women's C4, who mistimed her start and fell painfully off the right side of the ramp on to the tarmac.

Her coach helped her upright and she was able to continue, but no doubt shaken she could only manage an eighth-place finish.
