After a successful afternoon in the velodrome for ParalympicsGB that included six medals, we're back off to the pool with another night of swimming finals.

Day two brings us 14 finals and Great Britain have representatives have in five of them.

That is where much of this evening's focus will be, so let's get straight into it.

The gold is gone but Britain's Beth Munro still has a chance of coming away with a Paralympics bronze medal.

After losing her Para-taekwondo quarter-final earlier, the 31-year-old is about to face Denmark's Lisa Gjessing in the repechage.

The winner of that will face a losing semi-finalist in a bronze-medal bout.

Gjessing defeated Munro in the Tokyo -58kg final three years ago.

The Merseysider, ranked number one in the world in her category, was despondent after her loss earlier but let's see if she can put that behind her.

It's a repeat of the K44 -58kg Paralympic final in Tokyo, in which Kjaer beat Munro for the gold.

Whoever wins this time gets a chance for a bronze.

Jaco van Gass beat Fin Graham to C3 3,000m individual pursuit gold, and the British pair have been talking to Channel 4:

Van Gass: "I'm overwhelmed, delighted and just generally glad it’s over to be very honest. It's been a rollercoaster to this moment.

"I rode a average qualifier. I know I did well time-wise but in terms of how I execute the ride was not perfect.

"I knew I had something to work on for the final, it was just whether the legs would be there or not. It paid off and I’m just elated to be here."

Graham: "It's a carbon copy to Tokyo. I go out, break a world record and I get about five minutes, I’ve barely got off the bike before Jaco’s taken it off me.

"Coming into it Jaco’s the one to beat. He’s the reigning world champion and he was the Paralympic champion in Tokyo. He’s able to peak at the right time. In this event there’s no hiding - strongest man on the day wins and today, that is Jaco."

On the difference between Tokyo and Paris, Van Gass said: "It’s that’s very reason why I continued to carry on. The game plan was always to become a Paralympian, let alone a medallist.

"I stood on top of the podium looking into the stands in Tokyo and there was no-one.

"I knew from that second on, I would have to try again knowing that Paris was next, knowing that we’ll have those friends and family here. I had lots of adventures along the way but I kept with the bike."

Beth Munro may have experienced bitter disappointment when she lost her K44 -65kg quarter-final earlier but her family and friends are sure to be cheering her on when she fights in the repechage at 16:31 BST.

Between 60 and 70 of them have come to Paris to watch, many of them wearing t-shirts adorned with her face.

And if you think the woman on the second right of the picture above looks familiar, that's because it's Beth's twin sister, Fay.

When I collared Fay outside the Grand Palais this morning, before the quarter-final, she initially protested "I've been trying to avoid this for years" but was happy to share her pride in Beth.

"She's my twin and I've known all my life that she's absolutely phenomenal," said Fay.

"We're scattered all around the arena so she'll have noise from everywhere.

"Last time, during Tokyo, we were in Covid. We were at home on our phones waiting for updates, whereas now it's the best experience for us all to be here with her."

"I didn’t know I was going to get here a couple of years ago. I was over the moon with the call up and to get here and be able to do that – I’m just in shock right now.

"I looked across with six or four to go and I saw I was in front so I thought 'head down, go'. I know I shouldn’t have done but inside of me I was thinking ‘I’ve got this’.

"To be a medallist in this team is incredible and it proves that the programme works and the support behind us works.

"I’ve come up from foundation and it’s just great to achieve that. I’ve been with my coach for seven years now and it’s so nice to deliver the performance that I know I’m capable of for him."
