Harrogate Town have signed Paul Beesley from local rivals Harrogate Railway.

Beesley joined Railway from Boroughbridge at the start of the season and he has gone on to score two goals.

Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York, external: "It's extreme at the minute with the problems from injuries.

"So it's kind of a no brainer to give a lad an opportunity who has got his heart set on the move."

Weaver added: "He's a lad we want to give an opportunity to in the next few months.

"He arrives with a reputation locally as being a particularly aggressive forward and he's going to sweat blood for the club.

"He lives a stones throw away from the ground and with our predicament with injuries and suspensions it pushed it through for us.

"He might be raw to start with because he hasn't played at this level.

"But with training, hopefully his game will step up to the mark."
