Barnsley have released veteran striker Marlon Harewood, but agreed deals with five of the club's young players.

The 33-year-old Harewood joined on a free transfer last August and made 32 league appearances, scoring twice.

Manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Marlon wants to be first choice. That's when he's at his best and I feel this is the right decision."

Youngsters Antonie Boland, Erico Sousa, Brad Abbott, McCauley Shillito and Rhys Oates have all signed one-year deals.
