Accrington Stanley 1-0 AFC Wimbledon

Managerless Accrington Stanley made light of James Beattie's resignation by beating AFC Wimbledon to claim their second successive win in League Two.

James Gray settled a dour encounter by scoring an 83rd-minute winner.

Adam Buxton barged through two defenders before passing to Gray, who slotted into the bottom corner of the net for his fifth goal of the season.

After Beattie left by mutual consent in a shock move on Friday, his assistant Paul Stephenson took temporary charge.

The Dons went closest in the 56th minute when Sean Rigg's effort from a corner was finger-tipped onto the bar by Joe Lumley and bounced down for Piero Mingoia to clear off the line.

Accrington also won Beattie's final game in charge last Saturday - a 3-2 home win over Tranmere Rovers.
