Crewe Alexandra have extended the loan of teenage striker Uche Ikpeazu from Championship side Watford until the end of the season.

Ikpeazu, 19, who is in his second spell with Crewe, has scored twice since rejoining the club in November.

Crewe have also signed young keeper Ross Etheridge from Derby County.

After being loaned to Evo-Stik Northern Premier First Division South side Leek Town in November, Etheridge, 20, has now signed a month's deal at the Alex.

Crewe boss Steve Davis has been without goalkeeping cover for first-choice Ben Garratt since Scott Shearer signed for Burton Albion in early January.

Davis has gambled for the last three games by going without a replacement keeper on the bench, but Etheridge will be deployed there for this Saturday's home game against MK Dons.

Crewe had taken former Shrewsbury Town keeper Joe Anyon on trial, but he has instead signed for Crewe's League One relegation rivals Scunthorpe United.

The Alex currently lie 20th in League One, following Saturday's derby win at local rivals Port Vale, their fourth in six league games.
