Ian Rush says Wales' chances of success against Belgium depends on the hard work of the unsung players.

Unbeaten Wales are second in Group B, behind leaders Belgium on goal difference, and the sides meet on Friday night at Cardiff City Stadium.

"Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey are players that will win you games," ex-Wales and Liverpool striker Rush said.

"Tonight's all about the hard workers - the likes of Chris Gunter, Joe Ledley and Joe Allen."

Rush added: "If they put in the work rate they have done in previous games then I think we might get a result."

The top two teams from the nine qualifying groups will qualify for the Euro 2016 finals in France, as well as the third-placed side with the most points.

Eight other third-placed teams will play-off over two legs to provide another four sides.

Liverpool legend Rush is one of a number of high-profile Welsh internationals who never played in the finals of a major tournament.

Wales' record goalscorer says the national side's failure to reach major finals was a career low but is confident the current side can qualify for Euro 2016.

"My biggest disappointment was Wales not qualifying for a major tournament," Rush told BBC Radio Wales.

"One of my dreams was to score the winning goal in an FA Cup final and it came true, the other one was to play for Wales in a major tournament and it didn't come true.

"But the dream in my lifetime is to see Wales qualify for a major tournament and we won't get a better chance than this time to qualify."
