Nathan Thomas scored twice as Hartlepool thumped 10-man Morecambe.

Michael Woods slotted home before Thomas' deflected effort put Hartlepool 2-0 up inside six minutes.

Alex Kenyon reduced the arrears for the Shrimps, before Thomas curled in and Luke James made it 4-1 from the penalty spot after keeper Barry Roche was sent off for fouling Brad Walker.

Tom Barkhuizen pulled one back for Morecambe, but Rhys Oates headed home Hartlepool's fifth late on.
