Premier League, Women's Super League, EFL, Scottish football: Ups, downs & European qualification

Premier League
Manchester City won their third title in a row on 20 May when runners-up Arsenal were beaten at Nottingham Forest. Both teams qualify for the Champions League group stage along with Manchester United and Newcastle United - but even though City won the Champions League, there is no "extra" fifth place for English teams.
Fifth-placed Liverpool and sixth-placed Brighton and Hove Albion qualify for the Europa League group stage because as the FA Cup winners - Manchester City - have qualified for the Champions League, that Europa place reverts to the league.
The Europa Conference League play-off round place earned by Manchester United for winning the Carabao Cup reverts to the league, and goes to Aston Villa as they finished seventh.
West Ham United won this season's Europa Conference League with a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in the final, meaning they qualify for the Europa League group stage.
Southampton's relegation to the Championship was confirmed on 13 May with a 2-0 defeat by Fulham. They were joined on the final day of the season by Leeds United who lost 4-1 to Tottenham, and Leicester City who went down despite beating West Ham 2-1.
Women's Super League
Champions Chelsea clinched the title by beating Reading 3-0 on the final day of the season, and will enter the Women's Champions League along with Manchester United and Arsenal.
Bottom side Reading are relegated to the Women's Championship.
Championship
Burnley secured automatic promotion to the Premier League on 7 April with a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough, and made sure of the title on 25 April by beating Blackburn 1-0. Sheffield United sealed the second automatic place by beating West Brom 2-0 on 26 April, and Luton Town beat Coventry on penalties in the play-off final on 27 May.
Blackpool were the first side to have their relegation to League One confirmed after losing 3-2 to Millwall on 28 April. Wigan Athletic joined them the following day after drawing 1-1 at Reading, who were themselves relegated on 4 May after Huddersfield's 1-0 win over Sheffield United.
League One
Plymouth Argyle and Ipswich Town clinched the two automatic promotion places to the Championship on 29 April as Argyle beat Burton 1-0 and Town thrashed Exeter 6-0. Plymouth made sure of the title by beating Port Vale 3-1 on the final day of the season, while Sheffield Wednesday earned the final promotion spot by beating Barnsley in the play-off final on 29 May.
The bottom four teams are relegated to League Two. Forest Green Rovers' relegation was confirmed on 15 April with a 5-1 home defeat by Barnsley, while the other three places were decided on the final day of the season as Milton Keynes Dons drew 0-0 at Burton, Morecambe lost 3-2 at Exeter and Accrington Stanley went down despite a 2-1 win at Oxford.
League Two
Leyton Orient made sure of promotion to League One on 18 April despite losing 2-0 at Gillingham, and clinched the title four days later by beating Crewe 2-0. Stevenage were promoted on 29 April after beating Grimsby 2-0, and Northampton Town earned the final automatic promotion place by beating Tranmere 1-0 on the final day of the season.
Carlisle United were the fourth team promoted as they beat Stockport on penalties in the play-off final.
The bottom two teams are relegated to the National League, with Rochdale's 102-year stay in the Football League ending after they lost 1-0 at Stockport on 22 April, while Hartlepool United joined them on 29 April despite beating Barrow 3-1.
National League
Champions Wrexham clinched automatic promotion to League Two by beating Boreham Wood 3-1 on 22 April. Notts County earned the second promotion place after beating Chesterfield on penalties in the play-off final on 13 May.
The bottom four teams are relegated to National League North or South. Maidstone United became the first club in England's top leagues to be relegated after losing 4-0 to Boreham Wood on 1 April. Scunthorpe United joined them on 10 April after losing 2-0 to Oldham, as did Yeovil Town after they lost 3-0 at Wrexham on 18 April. Torquay United were relegated on the final day of the season despite drawing 1-1 with Wrexham.
The relegated clubs will be replaced by National League North champions AFC Fylde and play-off winners Kidderminster Harriers, National League South champions Ebbsfleet United and play-off winners Oxford City.
Scottish Premiership
Celtic clinched the title on 7 May by winning 2-0 at Hearts, and will enter the Champions League at the group stage, with runners-up Rangers entering in the third qualifying round.
Third-placed Aberdeen and fourth-placed Hearts will play in Europe, as will fifth-placed Hibernian.
Celtic's Scottish Cup win on 3 June means Aberdeen will enter the Europa League at the play-off round, while Hearts and Hibs will enter the Europa Conference League at the third and second qualifying rounds, respectively.
Dundee United were relegated to the Scottish Championship as they lost 3-2 to Motherwell on the final day of the regular season. However, 11th-placed Ross County beat Championship side Partick Thistle on penalties in their play-off final to maintain their top-flight status.
Scottish Championship
Dundee were promoted to the Scottish Premiership as champions after beating title rivals Queen's Park 5-3 on 5 May, the final day of the season. However, they were the only team promoted after Partick Thistle lost to 11th-placed Premiership team Ross County in the play-off final.
Bottom club Cove Rangers were relegated to Scottish League One after losing 2-1 to Morton on the final day, while ninth-placed Hamilton Academical went down on 20 May after losing their play-off final to Airdrieonians on penalties.
Scottish League One
Champions Dunfermline Athletic clinched automatic promotion to the Scottish Championship on 15 April by thrashing Queen of the South 5-0. Meanwhile, Airdrieonians were promoted on 20 May after beating Championship side Hamilton on penalties in their play-off final.
Bottom club Peterhead were relegated to Scottish League Two after losing 2-1 at Kelty Hearts on 29 April, while ninth-placed Clyde were relegated on 19 May after a 5-2 aggregate defeat by Annan in the play-off final.
Scottish League Two
Champions Stirling Albion, who clinched the title on 22 April after beating Annan 3-1, are automatically promoted to Scottish League One, where they will be joined by Annan Athletic who beat League One side Clyde 5-2 on aggregate in the play-off final.
Bottom club Albion Rovers were relegated on 20 May after losing to Lowland League winners The Spartans - who will replace them in League Two next season - in the pyramid play-off-final.
