Guernsey took the lead with a fortunate opener

Guernsey FC were denied a first win since the opening day of the season after Metropolitan Police scored a last-minute equaliser to draw 1-1.

Guernsey went ahead after 16 minutes as Matt Loaring's cross was turned in by a Met Police defender under pressure.

The hosts had the better chances in the game but went down to 10 men when Keene Domaille was sent off for a second booking in the final minute.

Within seconds the hosts equalised as Mason Galloway found the net.

Domaille's second booking came for kicking the ball away - the Guernsey player felt he had not heard the whistle.

Guernsey should have been 2-0 up 10 minutes from the end when Sam Murray converted a Loaring cross, but Loaring was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up.

The draw means Guernsey remain in the relegation places in Isthmian League South Central with a win and two draws from their 11 games.

"I'm disappointed," Guernsey manager Tony Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"I thought second half we didn't really have much control of the game, first half I thought predominantly we were in control, we just needed to finish them off.

"We got our goal, which we deserved, and got a little bit loose in periods, but ultimately I thought we were strong first half.

"Second half we didn't really get going, however in saying that, their goalkeeper made some unbelievable saves and on another day we'd be out of sight.

"I always feared that we might concede, that's just us."
