Truro City slipped to three points from safety in National League South after a 2-0 loss at Weymouth.

Dan Rooney hit the bar in the fifth minute as Truro started well, but Sam Sanders' own goal gave the hosts the lead after 38 minutes.

Calvin Brooks doubled Weymouth's lead from close range 20 minutes into the second half as the hosts improved.

Dan Roberts hit the post for the Terras before Jordan Thompson was sent off for Weymouth with five minutes to go.

The loss extended Truro's winless run in National League South to seven games, stretching back two-and-a-half months.

They have 16 points and occupy the final relegation place, three off Slough Town, who won 2-1 at home to bottom side Havant and Waterlooville.
